LIFESTYLE: WAYS TO STAY POSITIVE THIS YEAR

In today's post I want to talk about staying positive and ways in which I think you can stay positive and increase your productivity in 2018. I'm going to include a few products to help you stay organised and things you can do to make 2018 the best year yet!

First up it's the 18th of January so you should all have a brand new diary and calendar, if not you need to go and get one. I think writing down things really helps me stay productive and I like to tick things off and this keeps me on track. I also keep a note of any appointments etc, coffee with friends so i'm super productive and know what i'm doing from one day to the next. If I have a free day then I can use this for blogging and i'll usually write a list of blog posts I want to write or write a list of products I need to review so i've always got something to write about. I also use the calendar and notes on my phone but I find actually writing things in my diary and on my calendar works better for me. There's lots of lovely planners around like The Happiness Planner and these ones from Dot Creates and so if you work from home or like having a big diary I think they are great and have lots of sections to keep you organised.

Next up why not invest in a new wardrobe, get yourself some nice new clothes that you will be proud to be seen in. If you work in an office get yourself a nice new jacket or suit. This will make you feel really confident, and ready to get that promotion this year. If you are self-employed even though you don't wear a uniform appearing clean and professional is a good way to get new commissions, work etc, even if you just invest in a new dress, pair of jeans or a new coat.

Having a positive mental attitude is going to boost positivity and productivity this year. Why not join the gym or start going for a run, I find exercise a really good way of thinking and i've come up with some really good ideas whilst i've been out for a jog. Exercise can also help you sleep better which is another benefit and another way to boost your positive attitude.
Start doing yoga, have a massage, go for a walk around a park, just take some time out for you. Personal well-being is very important and looking after yourself should be a priority this year.

Healthy eating is another good way of staying positive, I always have a 'lets do this' attitude when i'm eating well. I'm always very motivated to do well. Sugary and fatty foods can make you feel sluggish and can leave you feeling tired and irritated.

LIFESTYLE: HOW TO STAY HEALTHY ON A BUDGET

Here's a few tips on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle on a budget, I will include a few fitness tips too on how you can keep fit on a budget too

1. Plan your meals, by planning meals you won't waste as much food. Write a shopping list based on your list and use up any veg/ salad before buying more.

2. Buy frozen veg, I tend to use frozen veg as this is just as good as the fresh stuff but it lasts alot longer so again no waste.

3. Don't go shopping hungry! Shopping is a great workout as you get lots of steps in but if your snacking all the way round then its pointless so have food before heading to the supermarket.

4. We shop at Tesco and always get vouchers and coupons in the post so make sure you have your coupons ready before you get to the till so you don't forget. The self scanners in Tesco are also a great way to keep track on what your spending as you scan as you walk around the supermarket.

5. Drink Plenty of water. Water actually makes you feel full and stops you getting dehydrated. You will be more productive if you are hydrated.

6. Cut out those coffees from the coffee shop and bring your own drinks to work. You can get sugar-free syrups from most supermarket so make your own and see how much you save.

7. Bring your own lunch to work. I always do my own lunch, My favourite lunch is a sweet potato jacket, you can get these in the freezer section of your supermarket. They take about 6 mins in the microwave. I fill my plate with lots of lovely salad and beans, and it keeps me full till dinner time.

Here's a few fitness on a budget tricks.

8. Youtube is a great source for videos, tutorials etc so Check out youtube for workouts don't waste money on fitness DVD's

9. If you'd rather use a fitness DVD buy them 2nd hand from charity shops or CEX

10. Walk the dog, run up and down the stairs, do the vacuuming. You don't need a fancy gym membership to burn those calories.

11. Most gyms offer free day passes or sometimes week passes. Check out your local gyms websites and see what offers they have. Sometimes they have a bring a friend day so see if your friend who goes the gym would mind bringing you along.

FITNESS: MY WEIGHT LOSS UPDATE

Today blog post is going to be about my weightloss journey and I thought i'd give you guys an update on how much weight i've lost and what fitness i've been doing.

My last update was in May, you can check that out here MAY UPDATE  - I had lost 1 stone 6LB

So as you know I recently got back off my holiday I weighed in and I only put on 0.5lb which I was very chuffed with considering i'd been away for 10 days and been off plan for about two weeks.
Now i'm back and at group this week I lost 1lb !! So all together i've lost 2 stone 4.5 lb since I joined Slimming World back in March

I haven't been 100% on track since getting back from Turkey, i've been struggling with food as the weathers been really hot and humid here in the UK. I've had a few really good days and a few really bad days but I still lost which is good.

I want to try and get 100% back on track this week, I know it will be hard with it being warm and the kids holidays so we will be doing more things with friends but the main thing is to have fun and make good decisions.

I've pretty much just been doing Slimming World recently and haven't done much working out because I haven't had time and it's not so fun going for a jog when the sun is blazing and its sooo hot. I have however been walking to work alot and since I got Pokemon Go Clint and I have been going for a few evening strolls as usual i've been using my pedometer to make sure I get over 10,000 steps everyday.

To get to my target weight i've only got 6.5lb to go so now I want to shift it i'm going to be on plan and start excersising again. When I first started loosing weight I was drinking lots of Green Tea but i've since found myself drinking normal tea again so I was thinking I might pick up a Teatox to help shift those last few pounds as the Teatox helps to boost metabolism and cleanses your digestive system.

I'll be sure to keep you up to date with my weightloss and if you want to follow me on instagram I have a Slimming World account which I share my meals on.

FITNESS: WORKOUT WISHLIST

I've been itching to buy myself some new gym clothes but i'm waiting until i've lost a little bit more weight as the gym stuff i've got at the moment still fits me fine. I really like looking for gym clothes and have been browsing quite alot recently. I love looking in TKMaxx because you get some really good prices for good brands, I thought i'd share a few bits that are on my wishlist.
Pink Soda is one of Jd Sports own brands and I love their range. I've picked out these super cute grey and pink legging which feel so soft and comfy and they are a cropped leg which I love, I really want to get these and then the matching top has a built in sports bra aswell. I love the colour, it's so pretty and again a really lovely material. I'm not sure if the sports bra bit would fit me but it would be fine for around the house. Next up is this Squat Goals vest from Boohoo which I think is funny but looks comfy enough for working out too. I absolutely love Nike trainers so i've picked out these Nike Thea's which look so pretty, I love the colour it's so unique. They look like really comfy trainers.  I already have a Panache Sports Bra which I reviewed recently but I love this black animal print one. It's such a nice pattern and I love the neon green detailing. Finally I'd love a fitbit, this pink one is really cute. I have a cheaper version of a fitbit which counts my steps but i'd love one that tells you loads of information for example I know some tell you your heart rate and steps etc.

BEAUTY AND FASHION : WISHLIST

I haven't done a wishlist for a while so I thought i'd pop one together, I seem to be wanting to shop alot at the moment. I've been to Primark a few times and i've just placed a Space NK order so hopefully I can resist buying anything else till payday! I'm doing that thing where you just don't look at your bank balance and hope for the best!

I keep looking at handbags, I nearly bought this grey/ mink colour bag from H&M however I don't tend to use big bags so I put it down and then a girl came into work with this gorgeous J By Jasper Conran bag and I was like OOOOO but when I went into the Debenhams in Birmingham they didn't have it so again I managed to be good and not buy anything.

I bought a few bits in Kiko last month, you can see my haul here but I really want to pick up the Gwen Stefani palette by Urban Decay but I have so so many eye shadow palettes and can't seem to commit to buying it I did think Clint may have bought it me for Valentines but we didn't buy each other presents this year.

I keep looking at gym clothes too, I really want to get back to the gym but I can't really afford my membership right now so i'm going try and stick to my healthy eating and workout dvd. The sportswear in New Look is gorgeous. I love these geometric leggings and this yoga top.

These boots are lovely, it's still too cold outside to wear flats just yet so i'm still living in my boots. These Clarks boots from Brantano would be perfect and keep me going. I could put them away till next year because Clarks are such good quality and they are classic black suede boots. They are also half price right now!

Finally this Abbott Lyon watch, they are all so pretty. I really love the grey strap on this one and I love the silver face. I have a few watches but this one is just so classy and clean and would just go with any outfit.

LIFESTYLE: CAN FITNESS TRACKERS HELP YOU REACH YOUR DAILY GOAL?

Hello everyone i'm back from Ibiza, i'm hoping to jump right back into blogging. I had some trouble with my Go Pro and have managed to loose all of my videos from Ibiza so i'm trying to retrieve my videos and I will hopefully be uploading an Ibiza Vlog.

Ibiza was amazing but now i'm back and I need to get back into my old routine and get myself back to the gym after a week of drinking and eating Tapas.

I find keeping track of my workouts really motivates me, I use the Polar heart rate monitor and the
My Fitness Pal app. I also occasionally use my pedometrer, to keep a track of my steps whilst i'm at work.

The Polar heart rate monitor is really simple and easy to use. It tells you when you are in the optimum zone whilst you are working out. It records how long you are working out for and how many calories you've burnt. It syncs with most gym equipment aswell making it really reliable.

I then use the My Fitness Pal app to record the information and also add my food and drink though the day. This gives you a little idea of what foods you will have burnt off through the day. I think recording what you eat makes you a little more wary of what your eating and stops you snacking!

A pedometer is a really handy thing to have you can get a pedometer app for your phone. This lets you track how many steps you take and how many calories you loose throughout the day. My job is quite active so I do alot of steps, so its good to keep tabs on this.

The fitbit is a device that actually does everything for you, it records your steps and your workouts, you can even use the fitbit app to log you food intake. There's also challanges to give you that motivation and push if you need it.

There's more information and stats about whether an exercise tracker will actually motivate you here on the Legal and General site

LIFESTYLE: WHAT I TAKE TO THE GYM

So a couple of weeks ago I joined back at the gym. I've been really motivated and lost some weight which i'm really happy about. I thought i'd show you a few bits and pieces that I bring along to the gym with me.

Clothes: I was kindly invited along to a New Balance event in London, which you can read about here. I was given the opportunity to personalise my own pair of New Balance trainers*. These are so comfy and perfect for the gym! I have a pair of Puma 3/4 length leggings, which are just Black and boring. I also have this grey racer back vest which is easy to wear, I also have this in a t-shirt.
My Panache sports bra is a recent purchase, I got it from Bravissimo, I went for a usual bra size and it's just so comfy! I love the colour and it gives a really nice shape under clothes. You can get £5 off all full price sports bras in Bravissimo throughout January. I love my Ipanema flip flops*, they are so comfy. I bring these to wear as I walk around the pool, you can read my review here.

Bags: Look at this amazing travel jewellery roll*, It's from Ted Baker and you can get it here from Flamingo Gifts it's such a clever idea, it keeps all your jewellery together and safe! My make up bag is also Ted Baker, it's such a good size and fits everything I need in. It's a waterproof material aswell so it's safe in my bag after i've been swimming. I love this backpack from Spiral * it's just so unique. They do different galaxy prints aswell as other patterns. The backs so spacious, making it perfect for the Gym! I can fit everything in, it has a pocket on the front and one inside for things like your phone. It also has a laptop compartment which I think is really handy!

Gadgets: I listen to music on my phone as I workout so I picked up one of these really handy arm strap things off Amazon. Its okay, I feel like it gets in the way of some workouts abit but its handy. I think it was like £2. I picked up one of these Polar heart monitor watches aswell this week, i've only used it once so far, so I will review it properly once i've used it a few more times but my first impressions are good! It's very handy and so accurate. It allows you to see if your working out properly and tells you how many calories your burning. I got mine here from Amazon.

Beauty Products: Obviously deodrant, I really don't get on with roll on so I always go for spray on. This week I'm using soft and gentle, i'm quite fussy with deodrant because I have sensitive skin but I find this works well. I also bring this Victoria Secret body spray/perfume called such a flirt, it smells amazing and i've actually had people ask me what spray i'm using because it's so nice. I also bring along my Victoria Secret body lotion, in Coconut Passion, which smells amazing, it rubs into the skin really easy and fast. I was given these Anovia products at a blog event, I haven't tried them out yet but i've popped them into my bag to try them out! I have this Elizabeth Arden Exfoliating cleanser to cleanse my skin and get all the dirt and makeup out of my pores. I also bring my Touch of Silver conditioner, it's one of my favourite conditioners and comes in this handy sized bottle.  Carmex, to keep my lips moisturised. This is so handy to just keep in the front pocket of my bag. I also bring along my Air Motion Pro HairBrush, its just so handy, it gets out knots so easily and works well with wet hair, you can read my review here.

*Some of these products have been sent to me for consideration. I have featured them in an honest way and have not been paid compensation to feature them.

LIFESTYLE: HEALTHY EATING

If you follow me on instagram then you'll probably have noticed there's been an awful lot of salad pictures from me this week, i'm trying to loose weigh and get fit and healthy so I have made some drastic changes to my diet and lifestyle.

FOOD:  I love food, burgers, chips and pizzas, pudding is one of my biggest downfalls and I tend to find myself snacking. I've cut it all out! I'm just eating salad and chicken really, i've had a few wraps (low fat) and omelettes just to change things up a little. I've been experimenting with my salad, adding grapes, beetroot, apple etc. Also we went for a meal out the other night because it was getting late and we were going to the cinema and I had a lovely salad from Coast to Coast, so again making changes to eating out. We normally eat out a few nights of the week but we went out only once last week and I think we're eating out tonight so that's it for this week. I've bought some yoghurts to have after dinner to stop me craving snacking. I've also cut down the number of sugars I have in my tea and hope to completely cut this out!

FITNESS: I've joined the gym, and i've been hitting it pretty hard. We've been 6 times over the last week (7 days) which I think is great, I really lack in motivation but I seem to be enjoying the gym and working out and my new lifestyle which for me is great. I've been doing a mixture of the cardio machines eg tredmill, rowing, bike and crosstrainer with some of the machines and weights. After the gym we've been going for a swim aswell. The other night we did the aqua aerobics which was really good and tired me and clint out! I've been looking into the other classes and want to take part in those aswell. I've also downloaded an app called 7 which is so intense, there's 12 steps to the workout and you do one after another so its really fast but hard. I've been walking aswell, just to the bus stop, which is a good 15 minutes away and the local supermarket which is a good 20-25 minute walk.

I've been using the My Fitness Pal app to keep track of my exercising and what i'm eating which is a great app. I've also downloaded Pacer which is a step counter, but I never really carry my phone around in my pocket so it's not that reliable. I found out my normal pedometer aswell so I'll be tracking my steps using that.

Is there anything thing else you guys would recommend or anything else I should be doing etc?

My Gym Essentials

I recently joined the gym again as I want to lose a bit of weight and get toned for my holiday. Here's a post about my essentials for the gym.

Trainers - I got these really cute Nike trainers, they have a mesh material on the side which is great at stopping my feet getting hot. These are training shoes so they are good for the gym.

Gym Clothes -  I'm not really bothered about what I wear to the gym. I have my Puma bottoms, there like leggings so they are really comfy and are easy to run in. I also bring my swimming costume to the gym as I like to go for a swim after exercising.

Flannel - I bring my flannel along incase I get abit sweaty, I use it to dab my face and wipe my hands on.

Towel - Like I said above I like to go for a swim after my work out so I bring my towel along with me.

Water Bottle - I bought this really cute water bottle to bring to the gym. I normally buy bottled water to take with me but decided it would be cheaper to refil the bottle myself. This bottle is from Primark.

Energy Drinks - Sometimes I like to bring an energy drink along instead of water like these ones from Multipower.com because they are full of things like caffine to sustain your endurance. There's loads to choose from and they can allow you to work out for longer and harder.

Iphone and earphones - Theres always music on at the gym but I like to listen to my own music, I also like to check my twitter and facebook whilst i'm on the treadmill or the bike.
