LIFESTYLE: FESTIVAL TOP TIPS

With summer here finally festival season is among us so I thought i'd put together a post with a few top tips for festivals and mention a few upcoming festivals.

1. Picking the right festival!! Alot of festivals have a reputation and you can usually guess what artists will play which festivals. For example if your into your rock/ indie then Download tend to have lots of rock bands playing and a few indie bands. If your into more pop/ rnb then Glastonbury or V Festival are more likely to be your cuppa. Be sure to do your research and see whos headlining the festivals before you buy your tickets, make sure theres plenty of people you want to see.

2. Planning! Be sure to plan what you are bringing with you, how you are getting to the festival? How much money you will need etc. These are all important elements to make sure your experience runs smooth. We traveled by train so I used a small suitcase for my clothes however this wasn't very festival field friendly and got so muddy. If you are getting a train then book your tickets in advance to get the best deals.

3. Look after your tickets or wristbands. You usually get your ticket/ wristbands posted out to you so be careful to look after them and don't forget to bring them with you on the day. I still have my wristband for V Festival when I went a couple of years ago, they are really cool keepsakes.

4. What to pack? There's so much stuff you need to bring to a festival with you!
Clothes, Food, Money, Drinks (plenty of water and alcohol for in your tent) a tent and sleeping bag, some foldaway chairs, floral crowns, dry shampoo, texturising spray, charger for phone, ( at vfestival they had lockers and stations where you could charge your phone) camera, comfy shoes, waterproof jacket,

5. festivals can be really expensive and you have to get your ticket straight away as those tickets sell out! So plan in advance save up all year so you have the money ready and then when those tickets go on sale you already have the money saved to buy your ticket. There's nothing worse than the perfect line up being released and you can't afford a ticket.

6. Who to go with? I think it would be great to go as part of a big group as not everyone wants to see Beiber so if theres plenty of you then surely someone will go along and sway to 'what do you mean?'

7. SUNCREAM! I know your probably thinking it always rains at festivals but when we went to V festival it rained all day and then on the last day the sun was so strong! I was so glad i'd brought sun cream and we needed it. Even if it's not very sunny the suns still there and you are going to be outside all day long so you need some kind of spf protection.

8. Look after your personal belongings. Try and bring as little as you can, if you don't want to loose it then don't bring it. You shouldn't leave valuables in your tent, if you need to leave it then put it in a locker. your phone and money is all you need and you should keep that on your person at all times. Girls bring a cross-over bag or bumbag if possible with a zip to keep all your goodies safe and sound.

Most of all have a good time! I loved V Festival, I really want to go this year as the line up is AMAZING!!! I just don't have the money boo!! I think i'm going to save up though and hopefully next years line up is good too!  If you've got any questions about camping at a festival or what I brought along with me then just let me know in the comments?

SUMMER: WHAT MAKE UP I'M TAKING ON MY HOLIDAY

EEEK LESS THAN A WEEK TO GO!!

I'm off to Turkey in just under a week and I have to say i'm so excited to get away from the UK and the rubbish weather! I thought i'd share my holiday make up bag and what i'm taking to turkey with me.

Since I took these photos I have picked up a few extra bits but this is the main bulk of products that will be coming with me. First up my base products, i'll be bringing my favourite concealer which is Collection, lasting perfection in the shade fair. Nars Sheer Glow* for the evening. I picked up a Rimmel BB cream yesterday for the daytime. For my contour i'm bringing my Becca highlighter in Champagne Pop and the Collection contour kit which is such a handy little product. The Bronzer is a gorgeous shade and the highlight side is a really lovely shade which I use under my eye to set my concealer to brighten the eye area. I've also popped my trusty faithful Clarins Bronzer *as this is one of my favourite bronzers for whilst i'm on holiday and you can use a really big brush and give yourself a little bit of colour all over your body.

Lip Products! I haven't gone crazy with lip products, i'll be bringing my Clarins comfort lip oil *for in the day and then i've picked out a couple of liquid lipsticks, this Maybelline Vivid Matte Lip which is a lovely pinky nude and one of the Revlon Matte HD lip colours in a nude/ pink shade too. I'm also bringing this Sexy Mother Pucker Matte Lipstick* in this gorgeous red shade as i'm loving matte lips right now! I will also be bringing Mac Velvet Teddy and I might pick up a lipstick in Duty Free, what shall I go for?

A few other bits that i'm taking along include my trusty faithfull eye liner, Rimmel Exaggerate liner in black and my NYX brow pencil. I will also be bringing Glow by Topshop which is a really good multi-use product which I use as a highlight on my brow bone and cupids bow but it's a handy eye-shadow too. Another trusty faithfull is the Urban Decay Potion Primer in Sin, this is a gorgeous eye primer and you can wear it alone or apply your eyeshadow over the top for a gorgeous colour and really good staying power. I'm going to be using my Stila palette whilst i'm away as it has a really good mixtures of mattes and shimmers and has a really good selection of shades.

A few new things i'm going to try whilst i'm in Turkey include the Maybelline Colossal mascara and the new Soap and Glory Archery Volu-Boost* to give my brows more definition. I'm also going to try the new Soap and Glory WonderBronze* which is a bronzer in a stick, i've had a little play and I love it so far!

I tend to wear a little bit of bb cream in the day and fill my brows in and then do my make up on the evening, what are your must have staples for your holiday make up bag?

BEAUTY: WHATS NEW THIS SUMMER FROM LANCOME

I was invited along to the Lancome counter in Selfridges Birmingham last week for a blogger event however I was unable to make it. I was able to head over to the counter on Friday and was lucky enough to find out about the latest releases from Lancome so I thought i'd share a few bits with you!!

The most exciting launch has to be the Lancome Grandiose Liner which is out tomorrow! With it's hinged handle which you can bend to a 35` angle which is designed to make applying your liner much easier. The handle is designed to create a swift steady line and makes it easier to get close to the lash line. The packaging is classic Lancome, very classy and expensive and the bendable handle is impressive. The liner is very long lasting and is a great formula making it easy to apply and you get a great consistency and colour in just one sweep. The liner also comes in a gorgeous Cobalt Blue which is gorgeous!

As I mentioned above it's out tomorrow and will retail at £23 I think if you really struggle at applying liquid eyeliner then this is worth a go, I think the handle is such a brilliant idea!!

My next favourite release from Lancome is the Energie De Vie range which is all about giving your skin that awake, refreshed appearance. The range is inspired by Korean Beauty Technology, it's such a gorgeous lightweight formula that dries into skin so quickly and leaves the skin soft and ready to apply make up. It's so good if your rushing in the morning, it dries in so fast but leaves your skin feeling energized, healthier and hydrated. The range consists of a moisturiser, mask and the Pearly Wake Up Lotion.

Another exciting new product from Lancome has to be the Genifique Sheet Mask, each mask is enriched with Lancomes best selling serum technology. Genifique gives you glowing and younger looking skin. Just one use will leave your skin feeling fresher, smoother and radiant. The mask adheres gently to the contours like a second skin. Sheet masks are very popular right now in a UK so these are right up my street.

I got to have a little play with a Clarisonic on the Lancome counter aswell as they have collaborated and are being reccommended by Lancome Experts. The Clarisonic cleanses 6x better than hands alone. It cleans so well, and it's so gentle! I always had visions of it being really harsh on the skin.

Don't miss out on the latest releases from Lancome, head on over to the Lancome counter at Selfridges Birmingham and check them out. The Grandiose Liner is out tomorrow which is very exciting.

A little birdy tells me that the Lancome Summer Sale also starts tomorrow too so what better reason to go on over to the counter and check out some of their fab sale offers!

Smellies - You can't go wrong with aftershave for your dad, they always need it and use it so if you can't thing of anything else then pick up their favourite bottle of aftershave. Ask at the counter what fragrances have been popular, I love the smell of Jean Paul Gaultier and Paco Robanne 1 million.
For a more affordable option these Lynx sets always go down well, my dad is always buying Lynx and he uses the shower gels so he appreciates the gift sets.

Shaving - Bluebeards Revenge*  have a great selection of shaving products aswell as moisturisers and hair products. Why not head on over to their website and check out the range. They have some really nice gift sets too which have lots of different products in. I love the packaging and the products are of a really high quality and they smell really nice.

Gadgets - My dad loves Gadgets, for every occasion, birthday etc he asks for a Drone, I bought him one for christmas so for Father's Day I decided to pick him up this Virtual Reality Headset which you hook up to your Iphone and you can watch 3D films and play games which seemed quite cool,  I picked these up on Iwoot.com

Another good gift idea is a portable speaker. They are so handy, I have one and we use it all the time, we bring it to the park or if were going to the beach. I bring it on holiday so we can listen to music whilst we get ready. My dad loves listening to his music and what easier way than through a bluetooth speaker from your phone, this is the Elevate Breve Bluetooth Speaker* and it's only £23.99 right now from The Inside Man  and it's so loud and a really sleek design.

If your dad is into quirky gifts or has just moved into his own place and you want to get him some cool homeware bits then check out Red Candy. I love this bicycle pizza cutter* I think it's really fun and my dad eats alot of pizza. The legless corkscrew* is also from Red Candy and is another fun addition to any bachelor pad. I also thought i'd include this crystal skull*, I think this would be fab for parties, you can put anything inside from sweets and crisps to a cocktail or you can just use it for decoration it would look fab on shelf with other cool bits and pieces.

Socks- Can you really go wrong with socks, my dad gets through them so quickly so I picked him up a nice selection to keep him going for a few months.

Food and Drink- Why not treat your dad to a meal out at his favourite restaurant, or take him for a drink.  I stocked up on some sweeties for my dad as he has a real sweet tooth.

These Fathers Day teas* from Victoria Mae designs are a cute idea aswell, they are teabags inside a handmade pouch designed by Victoria Mae. They are fun and cute little designs that would just be a nice little addition to any gift this fathers day. My dad loves a good cuppa and would really like these. Victoria Mae has a selection of different Tea gift sets for many different occasions, not just fathers day so check those out too.

Fathers Day is on the 19th June so just over a week now, I hope this gift guide has given you an idea of what to get your dad for Fathers Day. I'm looking forward to seeing my dad open his Virtual Reality headset the most.

The line up for V festival is incredible, Justin Bieber, Sia and Rhianna and Jess Glyne, I wish we were going. I'm working alongside Boohoo and have picked out some gorgeous bits and styled them up into this outfit.

I picked out this playsuit* from Boohoo which is a lovely plain jersey material, it's so comfy and easy to throw on . I will be bringing it to Turkey with me because it's so comfy and will be easy to put on for by the pool. I love this sleeveless kimono* thing which is so cute. I love the tassels and the paisley print. It's also from Boohoo, I thought i'd pop my tan plait belt on too with my plait sandals from Topshop which are my favourites because they are so comfy.

The sunglasses* are really cute too I think they look very festival-y and look fab with my outfit. I also popped this choker* on too which I loveee!

FASHION: SUMMER HOLIDAY PRIMARK HAUL

Hello hello! you may have noticed i'm going on holiday in a few weeks so I took a cheeky trip to Primark to stock up on those holiday essentials. I thought i'd share a few bits and pieces with you guys. I'm only going away for 10 days so I didn't need to stock up on loads but I just wanted to get a few essentials.

So of course I picked up some vest tops because primark ones are just so cheap and comfy. I got a thin strappy white one and striped one and then a thicker black strap vest too.

I picked up this gorgeous khaki kaftan beach cover up thing which was only £5! I really like it and I know i'm gonna live in it on my holiday.

I got a really cute cropped stripe vest aswell which I think was about £2.50, I don't normally wear crop tops but I think this looks really nice, I bought it a couple of sizes up too so its not too cropped ( needed to fit my boobs in)

I also got these cute culottes which I really like, they are so comfy and cute and I think they will look really nice with a black vest top.

Aswell as clothes I needed a couple of bits so I got this towel which I absolutley love! I've picked it up a couple of times now but put it down but my beach towel is really looking worse for wear so I just got it anyway and i'm pretty sure it scanned through at £5 instead of £7 so it was fate!

I got these cute bracelets, they were only £2, I wanted some anklets but they didn't have any silver ones so I picked these up but they are too small for my ankles, might have a play with them and try and extend one of them.

I thought i'd include these sunnies from last summer they are from primark too, I always stock up on primark sunglasses because they are so cheap i've got loads of pairs though so i've managed to not buy any recently.

Finally my favourite thing is this bag, I spotted a few people mention it on instagram so I keep my eyes pealed in primark and was so happy when I spotted it.  I don't really need any more holiday bags but it's just so cute and its such an Amy bag.

So that's everything I picked up in Primark for my holiday, have you got a primark haul for your summer holiday? Where are you going on holiday this year?

MY MAY FAVOURITES

I haven't done a favourites post for soo long, so I thought it was time to share some of my fave bits from this month.  Some of these items will have been shared recently on my blog.

First up has to be some beauty bits, I've been loving the Rosie for Autograph range, you can see my first impressions here. This is the bronzer which is such a lovely natural shade. It's really easy to apply and gives a nice healthy glow. I've been reaching for this most days! I love the packaging and the quality is fab.
I'm also loving this palette from Stila which i've had for a little while now. It's always been one of my favourites but i've found myself reaching for it more this month. This is the Eyes are the Window shadow palette in Soul. It's a range of gorgeous coppers and golds with some shimmers and matte shades. My favourite shade right now is affection which is a lovely dark red/ brown shimmery shade.
Next is the Soap And Glory Heel Genius which I always tend to whip out this time of year when I start wearing sandals. My heels are so dry and hard, I should invest in a ped egg really but I love applying this each night and popping my socks on and let it do it's magic. It's soothes and hydrates the heels making them look and feel better.
I have reviewed the Elvive Extraordinary Clay range on my blog recently check that out here, this has worked really well for me and i've repurchased it this month.
I've been using the Kiehls Centella skin calming cleanser for just over a month now and I have to say it's so lovely, it's so calming and gentle on my skin but it leaves my skin feeling so clean and soft. I've been using a quite a few Kiehls products this month, but this is my favourite overall.

I was recently sent a few tangle teezers and I forgot how much I love them. I've been using the compact one so much. I've kept it in my work bag and it's just such a great size. I mentioned it in my festival essentials post earlier in the week .
I've been loving my new Quay Australia sunglasses that I picked up in TkMaxx they are a gorgeous size and shape and I love that they are tortoise print which is my favourite. I've been wearing these so much this month.
Finally a bit of a weird one, Strawberries! I have never really been a strawberry lover but since joing Slimming World i've been eating them alot. This month British Strawberries have returned to the supermarkets but I don't really like them. I seem to prefer the spanish ones so i've been struggling to find these but I managed to find a massive box of them this week in Morrisons Yay!

So that's all for my favourites this month, what have been your favourites this month?

* some of the items in this post are pr samples, my blog post is honest and my own opinions. I have not been paid for this post or to feature any of the products.
