LIFESTYLE: WAYS TO SAVE MONEY BEFORE CHRISTMAS
9 October 2019
With Christmas approaching fast everyone starts to go into panic mode about how expensive this time of year can be. I thought i'd put together a post with a few money saving tips so you can save a bit of money before the festive season. I have Amelia's birthday in November too so always need to save abit of money around this time of year. I'd like to take her on some festive days out too!
Organisation- I think one of the most important things when it comes to saving money is to be organised! Start by writing a list, it can be as detailed as you like, you should write a list of your income and all of your outgoings. This makes it easier to see how much money you have left over each month after your bills. With this money you can then start to budget it. This can actually show much how much money your spending on rubbish like take-away coffee's and those odd random £2 and £3 here and there.
Loyalty Cards- Using loyalty cards like Tesco Clubcard and boots card can be a great way to save money. I usually shop at Tesco so can end up with quite alot of points. The great thing about Tesco clubcard is you can spend your points on shopping or you can boost your points and spend them on days out or eating out. Tesco also send out loads of really good vouchers so check them out to save even more! I save my boots points and use them to buy Christmas presents, Boots always have 3 for 2 on their Christmas gifts so it's such a good place to buy gifts.
Shop around!- Now days its super easy to save money. All you have to do is shop around, get online and compare prices. It's so easy to get great broadband and TV deals ,You can pop in your postcode and it's super easy to see all of the different providers in your area. They also have a great filter section so you can find the best deal that suits you! You can get a bundle which includes, Phone, TV, and Broadband and can actually save money by having a single package rather than separate providers. You also only have the one bill to worry about too which is great! I've actually had a look as we already have broadband with Sky and to add on a TV package it's only actually an extra £10 a month for 301 channels including Sky Atlantic, this also includes a Sky Q so we would get catch-up which is amazing! So if your looking for a to save money on your broadband or TV package it might be worth having a look at a package. For all other services like gas and electric suppliers, insurance etc you can use comparison websites to compare and find the best price.
Meal planning can also be a great way to save money! By planning what you will be eating you can just buy the ingredients for your meals, check the cupboards and see what you already have in to stop you buying things you don't need. By knowing what you are having for dinner you are less likely to order a take away or pop into your local supermarket and spend too much money on a quick easy dinner.
Those are just a few ways that you can easily save money in the run up to Christmas, I know that I need to start meal planning again as this always saves up money and I should really write a budget for Christmas so I know what i'm getting everyone and how much i'm going to spend so I don't overspend. How do you plan on saving money for the festive season?

LIFESTYLE: PLANNING A TRIP TO LIVERPOOL
2 January 2019

To get there we would jump on the train as you can usually get super cheap tickets about £9 each way from Birmingham. This way we can both have a drink and a good natter on the way there. I love getting the train and think it's such a good way to travel as sometimes especially on busy days you can get stuck in traffic on the motorway. There are a few train stations in Liverpool and the James Street Station is only 5 minutes away from the main shopping center so it's really easy to get to.
I love shopping so the first thing I would do in Liverpool is head to the shops! I've been there before and remember the shopping center being amazing! Liverpool ONE is the main shopping center. It's in a great central location, not far from the train stations so is a great place to spend your day out in Liverpool. They have a huge selection of shops, bars and restaurants as well as a 18 screen IMAX cinema. It's also only a short distance to the Albert Dock and The Beatles Experience which are some of Liverpool's main attractions. If you are planning a trip to Liverpool ONE be sure to head over to their website as they have an offers page where you get some great offers on things like eating in the centre, they also have a really handy visiting Liverpool section where you can get loads of great ideas for a day out!

I also want to head to the Royal Albert Dock, there's some independent shops on the dock, this is also where you'll find the Tate Liverpool Gallery, they have a really good exhibitions on this year. It's free entry so really affordable but such a great place to visit. Liverpool is also home to the Walker Art Gallery.
The Beatles Story is also located on the Royal Albert Dock, it's the largest permanent exhibition devoted to the life and times of The Beatles. Inside is also a discovery zone which is great for kids to learn all about The Beatles and they have a GIANT piano for the kids (and adults) to play on.
There's also an Escape Hunt in Liverpool, we have visited the one in Birmingham and it would be cool to visit another one. They give to 60 minutes to try and escape from a room! They are so good!
There's soo much to do in Liverpool, what are your favourite things to do? Have you been to Liverpool before?

CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE: GIFT IDEAS FOR HIM
6 December 2018
It's Christmassss! So i've put together a gift guide for him! I thought i'd share some gift ideas for the men in your life, whether it be your dad, brother or boyfriend.
First up is this Plug and Play Retro TV Game from Findmeagift.co.uk This is a great gift for the gadget lovers. It's got some really old school games on so perfect for all ages! It's only £5.99 at the moment.
This TX-40 Gioteck Stereo gaming headset is the perfect gift for the gamer in your life. They are gorgeous with the copper detailing. Great price and look fab! They have really good reviews, clear sound, comfortable to wear and not too big and bulky! These will be perfect for my brother-in-law
This Name a Star gift is a lovely gift. It comes in this really nice tin and is super easy for your loved one to register and name their star.
You can't really go wrong with smellies, Davidoff Cool Water smells so good and is such a versatile scent. Perfect for any man in your life. It's quite affordable too, you can get it from Fragrance Direct for less that £25 for a 125ml bottle
I mentioned this wallet in my recent personalised gifts, gift guide. It's from Etsy and was only £16, its leather and you can personalise it inside and out. It's such a lovely gift, I've bought it for my dad from Amelia and my niece.
What do you buy the men in your life? This year i've bought Clint a Tassimo machine, it was on a really good offer on Black Friday. I'm buying my dad clothes, as he's just had new trainers for his birthday and is all stocked up on fragrances.

LIFESTYLE: MONEY SAVING TIPS
6 March 2018
We are hoping that in the next 5 years we will own our own house. Right now we rent and we plan on renting for a few more years. We have discussed mortgages but as i'm only working part-time we are better off waiting until I go back to work full time when Amelia starts School. I don't think it makes much sense for me to work full time as we would have to pay for childcare for Amelia and i'd rather spend this time with her. I thought i'd share a few ways in which we intend on saving money. We need to save money to pay for deposits and renting fee's and we currently live in a part furnished apartment so we will need to pay for furniture and other appliances.
First up is making cut backs. Do I really need to buy that pair of boots? Going out for extravagant
meals. It's good to look at your statement and see how much you really spend on unnecessary purchases for example those £4 coffees twice a week add up, you can buy a whole jar of coffee and put it in your own to-go cup. I was spending £17 a month of a cinema car that I don't use and wasting £30 a month on my gym membership. I know it's not the same but if you want to save money you have to make these simple changes. By making these little changes like parking a little further away from town or why not walk to the shops instead of driving?
Meal Planning - We waste so much food and it's because we never plan our meals. Plan your meals for the week and write a shopping list. Then go to the supermarket and just buy whats on your list, I find online shopping is a good way to save money too because you don't get tricked into buying those £1 offers at the end of the aisle. Also by doing a weekly shop you use less fuel going back and forth to the shops and you tend to eat what you have in rather than going to get something else for dinner.
Shopping around - why pay more for something? You can browse different websites online and find out what stores have the best prices and offers on those products that you need. Going to shops like Home Bargains or Savers for your household goods can save you loads compared to the supermarkets. As I mentioned above we rent a part-furnished apartment so when we move we are going to need to buy everything from a sofa, fridge-freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. It's good to shop around online and there's websites like latestdeals.co.uk who have loads of really good deals on appliances. Another way to save money is to look for vouchers when shopping as you can save lots of money by looking to see if there is a voucher before you buy, even if it's just a free delivery code.
Buy secondhand - There are so many products that you can buy secondhand, one of my friends bought a secondhand sofa and its lovely. It's a huge grey corner sofa and I would never of guessed it was pre-owned. You can find some really good deals on furniture, I bought our Ikea dressing table second hand and it looked brand new and it cost me about £20 instead of the retail price of £120.
Even after following my money-saving tips we will still need to look at a service like Zippa Loans to buy some of the furniture and to put towards a deposit. This way we can manage the monthly repayments. I think we will buy a new fridge/freezer and then look into getting a second hand sofa and some wardrobes. I think we could bring our washing to our parents for a couple of months and then save up to buy a washing machine instead of paying out loads at the same time.

CHRISTMAS: GIFT IDEAS FOR FOOD LOVERS
14 December 2017
I thought i'd put together a little food lovers gift guide as I have a few products that didn't really fit into any of my other gift guide categories and they seemed to fit the foodie category.
First up, if you saw yesterdays post you will have seen I featured a Luxury hamper from Prestige Hampers. Today i'm including this smaller hamper, this is a more affordable option and it contains lots of festive goodies. The Seasonal Treats Box retails at £22.99 and is full of lots of lovely brands and products.
You get a range of products including jams, fudge, popcorn, tea and more...
It comes in this really nice box which would be easy to wrap or you can have it delivered to the recipient in time for Christmas.
As I mentioned in yesterdays post I think hampers are a great gift idea for those people that we struggle to buy gifts for. They look impressive and are usually full of lovely treats that most of us would be happy to recieve.
Next is this cute condiments pot from Helen Russel creations, it's such a cute little pot and would make a lovely gift for Christmas for any food lover ( or penguin lover) I think this would make the perfect mint sauce pot or you could use it for another condiment on Christmas Day. I will use this all year round as I love it and think it's just so cute. Helen has lots of other lovely products including stationary, cards and other Christmas products so be sure to have a look.
Finally I thought this was such an unusual product perfect for any Prosecco lover ( we all know one) With this you can turn water into Prosecco, I think this is really fun and a lovely gift idea instead of just buying someone a bottle of fizz they can actually make their own. You can buy this from findmeagift.com and it's actually on offer right now.
A few more food gifts that I think would make nice gifts are, a voucher- getting someone a voucher for meal out or a night at the cinema can mean alot to some people. Maybe they are saving to buy a house or don't really have time to think about going for a meal. This gives people an excuse to put a date in their diary and go out without spending any money.
Another idea is a ticket to The Good Food Show or a similar event a like market etc. Again it gets people out to events that they might not have gone to before and if they love food they will be thrilled to attend a foodie event.
Experience days, there's lots of foodie experience days out there. You can go wine tasting or go on a course and learn how to cook. You will be surprised at how many food and drink experiences there are.
I hope my gift ideas for food lovers has helped? What kind of gifts would you buy for the food lover in your life?

CHRISTMAS: PRESTIGE HAMPERS
13 December 2017
I have kindly been sent this amazing hamper from Prestige Hampers to feature on my blog. I don't know what it is about hampers but I associate them with Christmas, I don't really get hampers any other time of year. I usually get a hamper from work and Clint has actually got a hamper this year too nothing like this one from Prestige Hampers though.
This is the Happy Christmas Basket it's a really decent size and packed full of goodies. They basket is lovely, it's a great quality and you could use it again and again. The handle makes it perfect for picnics or you could use it around the house for decoration, I actually use a basket like this to store things in my bathroom like bath bombs and shower gels so it looks tidy.
The basket is full of lots of amazing brands and products. There is a really good selection of products and variety. This is a non-alcoholic hamper so it's perfect for everyone. I love the little lemonade and ginger beer, the bottles are really cute.
Inside theres, tea, coffee, biscuits, chocolates, cake, Christmas pudding, and popcorn! It's just jam packed with lots of amazing treats.
I think hampers are a great gift for employers to give to their employees because you can't really go wrong with a lovely hamper. I also this would be a lovely gift for my Grandparents as I usually struggle with what to get them but I know they would eat everything in here so it would make a great gift. I think hampers are a nice gift idea and great if you struggle to buy for someone. This one looks very luxiourous aswell because of the lovely basket.
There's still time to order before Christmas so head over to Prestige Hampers to check them out, they have a range of different hampers and other products to choose from and they vary in price so go on over and have a look.

CHRISTMAS: PICK THE PERFECT FRAGRANCE THIS CHRISTMAS
4 December 2017
I love getting perfume for Christmas and I usually buy perfume for a few of our family members. My mom always asks for perfume and I always try and buy her something different. She tends to stick to the same few perfumes so I like getting her something new to try. It's really easy to shop for perfume on Fragrance Direct as they have so many different brands at really affordable prices. They also have really good descriptions of the fragrance so you can decide if it sounds like a scent you would like, they also have lots of reviews so you can see what other customers think.
I picked out this Marc Jacobs scent, it's described as a woody, sexy scent. It's gorgeous, the scent is really warm and sweet. It is a sexy scent and I'm so happy with it. I've had so many compliments on this perfume too. The bottle is gorgeous, I love the dark greeny/blue shade of the bottle and the gold detailing, this looks amazing on my dressing table.
I also picked out this Joop WOW fragrance, i've actually picked this out for my dad as he always needs new aftershave. I am a fan of the original Joop fragrance so I thought i'd see what the WOW fragrance is like. It is a very masculine scent, the combination of bergamot, cardamom and violet create a warm fragrance that is perfect for this season. It's not overpowering so perfect from day to night. I really like the bottle, it's simple but sleek.
Head on over to the Fragrance Direct site to check out all of the amazing fragrances they have to offer perfect to gift this Christmas. They have so much choice and with free delivery and a gift wrapping service it makes gift giving so easy. Do you have any fragrances on your wish list this Christmas? What is your favourite perfume or aftershave and what kind of scents do you usually go for?

FASHION: CLINT'S TOP PICKS FROM BOOHOO
23 October 2017
You may have seen Clint featured on the blog last week, we have collaborated with Boohoo this month and they have kindly sent over some bits for Clint. If you didn't see his last outfit then check it out here. CLINT WEARS BOOHOO THIS SEASON
Boohoo have a really good selection of menswear, they also have a good selection of sizes and colours. Clint was after a few basics to add to his wardrobe this season so he picked out a few t-shirts and this lovely grey hoodie.
He's teamed this dark grey hoodie with his skinny jeans and trainers so a comfy but casual everyday look. He's actually wore this hoodie a few times now and it's a really nice thick material. It's very cosy and soft so it's perfect for the colder weather we've been having.
As I mentioned above he also picked out a few new basic t-shirts. Boohoo have such a good selection of t-shirts in all different sizes, colours and styles. They are really affordable and are a really nice quality. He picked out this nice khaki colour muscle fit crew neck which I think really suits him, Khaki is one of my favourite colours for the Autumn.
He also picked out a two pack of muscle fit t-shirts, in Black and Grey. They have other multi-packs of t-shirts so you can easily replace your old tops for some nice new ones. As you can see they fit really well and are a really nice quality.
Check out Boohoo if you are after some really good quality menswear. Clint was really happy with all of the items he received. They all fitted really well and are all lovely quality. I'm sure he will be placing another Boohoo order very soon as he's seen a few jackets that he likes for the Winter.

LIFESTYLE: GET YOUR HOME READY FOR HALLOWEEN WITH HOMESENSE
11 October 2017
It finally feels like Autumn!! We went for a lovely stroll (check out my outfit pictures here) in the park and picked conkers the other day and then came home and carved pumpkins. We've done it abit early this year as bubba is due early November but I feel like she might make an early entrance and I didn't wanna miss out carving my pumpkins. I did this spooky face, it was meant to be a cat but it just looks like a creepy face and Clint did a Wolf from Game of Thrones which I think looks really good.
We love watching scary films, with a blanket over us and lots of sweets and snacks to enjoy? How do you get ready for Halloween?
Homesense have got LOADS!! of really cool Halloween decorations and home bits so if your having a Halloween party or even just want a few decorations for your house you need to head down to Homesense.
They also have a gorgeous selection of autumnal interiors and furnishings. I saw lots of beautiful throws and blankets in really lovely oranges and yellows. Also if you love a good candle then they have such a huge selection of autumn scents to choose from. I just picked up this little Cinnamon Orange candle jar as it was about £2 and smelled so good! I've got lots of candles so i'm trying to resist buying any new ones.
The 'Trick' 'Treat' banner was also from Homesense they had a few different designs and they are really affordable. I think this one was about £4 and I think they look fab! You could save them and use them year after year too!
I also got the Trick or Treat plaque from Homesense, it actually lights up and was only £4.99 and is a really nice little decoration that isn't too in your face. Again you can get this out year after year. They have so many bits and pieces to choose from. They have a gorgeous selection of ceramic pumpkins and some really creepy looking snow globes with ghosts and skeletons inside.
How cute is this little Halloween mug, I couldn't leave it behind and I will use it for big hot chocolates with lots of cream and marshmellows! I went for the cat one as I'm a big cat person but they had lots of really nice designs to pick from.
I think thats everything I got from Homesense this year, head down and check out their Halloween selection for this year as it's very impressive and they have so much to choose from, if you are having a party they have lots of different things and it's really affordable and unique so would really recommend checking them out.
Our house is all ready for Halloween now i've also got out my little pumpkin and my skeleton bowl from last year and we've carved our pumpkins so we can just get the scary films out now and wait for this baby to make an appearance.
I actually got the cute little pumpkin marshmellows from Homesense too, they were just too cute!!
FASHION: CLINT WEARS JACAMO THIS SUMMER
26 August 2017
The summer is nearly over but we've had a few nice sunny days here in the West Midlands so don't put those shorts and t-shirts away just yet. Jacamo have a huge selection of products ready for the summer and specialise in a wide range of sizes from S to 5XL
We've had some decent weather this Bank Holiday weekend so far so Clint went for a shorts and polo shirt combo. We had a pretty chilled day yesterday and spent the day in the garden and making the most of the sun.
The Navy polo is the Tog24 Beckett Mens Deluxe polo shirt, I love the Navy, Red and White combo! It's also very affordable at £20, It looks and feels a lot more expensive. It's 100% heavy cotton so washes well. Clint's teamed this with a pair of ripped denim shorts which I feel dresses the outfit down and creates a more casual look for the daytime. This top would look great with a nice pair of dark blue denim jeans and some smart shoes for a night out.
The next outfit is another Polo shirt, this Jaquard pattern polo from Black Label at Jacamo stands out with the contrasting trims, again very easy to dress up or down. A smart pair of jeans would be perfect for an evening at the pub with the lads. I think it works well with these Chino style shorts. They are a really nice smart shorts and would be perfect for the summer, they are a really good style for a holiday as they are very versatile and would go with lots of different tops and shirts.
What are you wearing this summer? Do you like Polo shirts, I think they are very easy to wear and a great smart-casual piece to add to your wardrobe?
