BEAUTY: MY FESTIVAL ESSENTIALS

Today's post is all about those must have beauty essentials perfect for all of those upcoming festivals. With the sun out and our shorts on it's only a matter of time before festival season is here so why not start getting your beauty essentials sorted. For any festival is super important to have a decent spf, even if you just here in the UK as your going to be outside all day and you need to make sure your getting enough protection from the sun. Your going to need some comfy shoes and your sunnies and maybe a hat too!

I thought i'd share a few products that I love and think would be perfect some a summer festival.
First up hair products! You need some dry shampoo first of all, I only really use the Batiste one which works really well for me and keeps those greasy roots at bay for a few days. Once you've dry shampoo'd your hair spritz some of this Lee Stafford Coco Loco Coconut Spritz into your hair and scrunch it up for that tousled wave look. The spray leaves your hair smelling fresh and clean and stops your hair from looking dry and straw like. Another must have is a travel Tangle Teezer, your hair is going to start getting a little hard to manage after not washing it for a couple of days. A handy Compact size Tangle Teezer is such a great thing to bring along to any festival to tame those locks.

Some all rounders like Dr Paw Paw's original balm is a good staple to pack, you can use this for a number of different uses. You can use it as a lip balm, skin protector, for nails and cuticles, on dry skin such as on your heels, elbows or hands. It also has calming and healing properties perfect for sun burn, prickly heat or skin irritations.

Kiehls Midnight recovery oil is another good product. It replenishes the skin with moisture which will work wonders overnight whilst you sleep to repair the damage caused from the sun.
It has soothing qualities and boosts radiance.

I thought i'd include a few Carex goodies because sometimes festivals can be abit dirty and grim so I would bring along my own hand sanitiser, I love the smell of this Strawberry laces hand gel!  Incase the loo is out of soap or you just want to freshen your hands. I would also bring plenty of tissues and these wipes are handy for hands, face and body for a freshen up.

You do so much walking and standing up at festivals so some Compeed would be handy to bring along too.

Another handy thing to think about is sanitary products, such as pads and tampons. Your period can strike at any time so be prepared and chuck a few pads or tampons in your bag. Lil-lets have a huge range so there's something to suit every cycle.

How cute is this handy travel size Garnier Micellar water, I've picked this up for Turkey but it would be a fab little size to bring along to a festival. When you've finished it you can just throw the mini bottle away or reuse it for something else. I think these little mini's are such a great idea. I got this in Savers for a pound!!

I'm not off to any festivals yet that I know of, are you? Where are you going and whats your top beauty must have for a festival ?

FASHION: JD WILLIAMS KHAKI SHIRT DRESS

DRESS: JD WILLIAMS* // SANDALS :TOPSHOP (OLD) //SUNGLASSES: QUAY AUSTRALIA

Yesterday the weather was gorgeous so we headed out and took some outfit photos, i'm struggling taking outfit photos because of the shifts i've been working and them clashing with Clints shifts. This khaki shirt dress is gorgeous, it's so easy to throw on and I think it looks very summery with my sandals on. I think you could easily wear it with jeans/ leggings with a jacket in cooler weather. We spent today just running errands really. We had to do some food shopping and nipped to home bargains.

I love these Quay sunglasses that I picked up in TKMaxx, I really want to get myself another pair.

This shirt dress is from JD Williams and also comes in Black and a Burgundy shade. They also have a sleeveless one which would be perfect for the summer!

JD Williams have a huge range of summer dresses to choose from so be sure to head over to their website and check them out.

FASHION: SUMMER HOLIDAY WISHLIST

We are off on our holidays very very soon, we haven't actually booked our flights yet but we are planning on going to Turkey on the 29th/ 30th June so literally just over a month away. I don't really have the money to buy new holiday clothes but I have been looking online at all the gorgeous holiday bits so I thought i'd share a few things in a wishlist.

To start is this gorgeous top from Topshop, I always look in Topshop when i'm looking for holiday clothes because they do some really gorgeous pieces. I think this top would be lovely for an evening meal with some black culottes and sandals. I think it's a really lovely top that I will be able to wear for work aswell not just for holiday.

I picked out this playsuit from Asos, it's so cheap at only £18 so i'm really considering buying it, and its available in petite and tall. I love pom pom's and black is such an easy colour to throw on. I think this playsuit would be perfect for an evening outfit but you could easily throw it on by the pool.

I really like this Palm Print Jumpsuit from Topshop, I think it would be so easy to throw on and style with a pair of wedges and some tan accessories. It comes in petite too which is perfect!!

These Hudson Fifa Leather strap sandals from Daniel Footwear are just so perfect. I think they are a really nice simple pair of sandals that you could wear from day to night with any outfit! They have a tiny little heel which will give me a little bit of height, they just look so comfy so they would be perfect for my holiday as we like to do lots of walking when were away.

I recently featured these shorts in a recent blog post, a holiday essentials post which you can check out here, they are from New Look and such a bargain. I think they just look so comfy and the khaki colour is really lovely and suits me well. These would look so nice with just a plain black vest and some tan sandals.

Finally another pair of Quay sunglasses, these are quickly becoming my favourite brand of sunglasses. I already own one pair but they are all so gorgeous, I need to add a few more styles to my collection. I'm loving these ones from Asos.

FITNESS: SLIMMING WORLD UPDATE

Heyy, so I thought i'd do a little Slimming World update for you guys! This week will be my 10th week. I've been sticking to plan pretty much all the way through, i've had a few off plan meals and a few little treats here and there. Last weekend I fell off the wagon a little and even though my meals were on plan I was snacking and had a few naughty treats. I went to a party on Saturday and had a little too much to drink. I had a really bad hangover on Sunday and had work, I had Rice Crispies for dinner and a sandwhich for lunch which was off plan. I was right back on plan on Monday and have had a really good week, it's wednesday today when i'm writing this but i'm going schedule this post for Friday. I've just got home from my staff meeting and one of the girls brought in Krispy Kremes and I had one, nooo. It was so good!

I've lost 1 Stone 6lb so far! I have won Slimmer of the week 3 times and i've got my Club 10 award. I'm hoping I can get my 1.5 stone award this week!

FASHION: THOSE SUMMER HOLIDAY ESSENTIALS

I'm going on holiday yay! You know what that means I need to go shopping!! I only need to get a few bits and pieces as I went on a couple of holidays last year so I have lots of clothes. I just want to get a couple of new bits so i've been looking online and will be nipping into Primark at some point.

I thought i'd do a post to share some of my holiday must haves, these are essentials that I need to bring with me.

First up is swimwear, as I have big boobs decent swimwear is really important, i've got a couple of Freya bikinis which i'm going to bring with me, i'm tempted to pick up this one from Cleo by Panache which is a gorgeous bandeau style, the colours so bright and I love the frilly bottoms.

Some comfy shorts are a must have, if you plan on doing any walking, excursions etc then you need to get a comfy pair of shorts, I stocked up on loads for Florida last year but I recently spotted these Khaki ones from New Look that I need to get because they are sooo pretty.

A decent pair of sunnies is a must have! I usually stock up on a few Primark pairs aswell. These Quay Australia ones are lovely, I recently got a similar pair in TkMaxx which i'll be bringing away with me.

These wedges are gorgeous, they are Ted Baker, you can get them from the Jones Bootmaker website. I love the colour and I think wedges are perfect for holiday, they are so comfy and you can wear them with so many different outfits. I usually bring a pair of wedges and then a couple of pairs of flat sandals.

I have a couple of Kimonos which I always bring on holiday with me as cover ups for by the pool and on the evenings when it gets chilly. I really like this lace one from Asos which would be perfect for both day to night. I think it would be awsome for a festival aswell.

Finally, I always get myself a new beach bag. This one from New Look is so pretty and it's a great size for keeping all your bits and pieces in for by the pool. You can fit plenty of suncream and towels in this one. I love the Moroccan style print and think it would be perfect for hand luggage on the plane aswell!!

Are you going away this year? Where are you off too and what are your holiday essentials?

FASHION : THE MET GALA 2016 - OUTRAGEOUS OUTFITS

image : ibtimes

You may have seen it was The Met Gala last weekend and the outfits did not dissapoint. From Taylor Swift in Louis Vuitton to Lady Gaga in Atelier Versace the celebs and designers were on point! This years theme was Manus x Machina Fashion In An Age of Technology so I was expecting to see lots of outrageous outfits.

If you want to check out some of the most outrageous outfits from the Met Gala over the last 20 years then check out this article by MyVoucherCodes here http://www.celebritywatch.co.uk/atrocious-met-ball-outfits/

I thought i'd pick out some of my favourite outfits and some that were a little too much.

Florence Welch wearing Gucci, I absolutly love Florence, she's so unique and quirky and this dress is so true to her. The detailing is incredible and the colour is really great on her.

Emma Watson is wearing this incredible Calvin Klein dress which is so elegant, the off the shoulder style really suits her and is so flattering.

Kim K wearing Balmain and Kanye wearing fear of god, I love Kim K's dress and think it suits her curves really well and is really unusual. Kanye looks abit scary with those contacts and i'm not feeling the casual t-shirt, ripped jeans and boots, I much prefer him in a suit.

Another couple on the red carpet was Zayn and Gigi. I think they both look incredible! Gigi's dress is Tommy Hilfigure which is stunning. It's a gorgeous shape and colour. Zayn is wearing Versace and looks gorgeous. I love the sleeve detailing.

Nikki Minaj is one of my favourite female artists, i'm not really feeling this dress by Moschino, I don't really like the buckles and I don't think the sheer material and all those buckles are working for me.

Lady Gaga has to be my favourite outfit, she's a very flamboyant character and I always love her outfits. I love that she wore fishnets and a bodysuit which is so different to the gowns that most people were wearing. Her Aletier Versace outfit was incredible, the jacket is stunning, so much detail and she looked fabulous,

BEAUTY: SUMMER SKINCARE UPDATE

I recently changed my skincare routine quite alot so thought i'd share it with you and let you know how i'm getting on with the changes.

I went along to a bloggers event at Kiehls which you can read about here and had a consultation. I found out that my skin is normal/ dry but i've been using the wrong products for my skin. I was recommended some products which i've since bought and been sent so I switched up my skincare quite alot.

First up cleansers, i'm still using and loving my Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser. I'm using the Pink Pepper and Mint one which I absolutely love! If you head on over to the Liz Earle Website you can get a Limited Edition Hot Cloth Cleanser such as the Pink Pepper and Mint with a 100ml original hot cloth cleanser and 4 muslin cloths for £29 which is over £10 worth of savings, Hurry offer ends tonight at Midnight!!

I've been using the Kiehls Skin Brightening Exfoliater which i'm loving, it smells incredible and is a really nice gentle exfoliater. I have been using this about once a week to get rid of the dead skin and i'm really liking it so far. I've been using it for about a month now and think my face is softer and my make up looks better.

The Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is a really lovely fruity scent cleanser which is a non foaming gel. It's a nice grapefruit colour and really gentle on the skin. It improves the appearance of the skin by removing pores and dead skin cells. I really like it and find it leaves my skin feeling so soft and clean.

The Kiehls Centella Skin Calming Facial Cleanser* was recommeded at the Kiehls event, it's a lovely gentle cleanser which removes all make up and leaves the skin feeling soft and clean. It's suitable for sensitive skin which is great. I really like it because of it's calming qualitites as I sometimes have allergic reactions and this is great at calming the skin without drying it out. It contains both Aloe Vera and Chamomile to calm and soothe the skin and the Centella is a heeling element.

Next up my Moisturisers and Serums.
I've been using the Kiehls Ultra Facial cream* which I have had for a little while but never really used it. At the consultation at Kiehls I was actually recommended this for my skin type so i've been using this loads recently both morning and night. I sometimes switch it up with my Clarins Multi Active night cream* which I find works really well for me too and my skin always feels really hydrated when I use this.

I've been giving this Clarins Detox Booster* a try aswell which is designed for damaged skin, its good for skin that is damaged by smoke, nights out and pollution. I think it's a good idea and like the idea of repairing my skin from the pollution. I really want to give the Energy booster a try!

Last but not least my favourite product out of them all! I've tried samples of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate* by Kiehls before but they kindly sent me the full size to try and i'm so in love! It's such a lovely product. I use it every night before I go to bed after i've cleansed and it makes my skin feel full of moisture and hydrated which I love. It's such a gentle product and smells amazing. I use it every night and my skin feels so much better, really smooth and soft.

Overall my new regime is really working for me. My skin looks so much better, it's so smooth and seems really hydrated and I don't have flaky dry bits. It's still not perfect but i've been trying so hard to make sure i'm always removing my make up properly and trying to use the moisturiser every day and night.  I love the Kiehls cleanser aswell this has quickly become a favourite, I use it all the time!

BEAUTY: LOREAL ELVIVE EXTRAORDINARY CLAY RANGE

NEW : LOREAL ELVIVE EXTRAORDINARY CLAY RANGE

I've recently been trying the new Loreal Elvive extraordinary clay range. I've been struggling alot with my scalp, it's been very dry and irritated so I needed to find a new shampoo that would hopefully combat this. I have sensitive skin but have never really struggled with my scalp until now. I've had my hair coloured and i've used a mixture of different shampoo's and conditioners and never had any kind of reaction. My scalp has recently been very flaky and irritated/itchy. I thought it may have been product build up so tried washing my hair every other day instead of every few days but this didn't make any difference. I then decided to give an anti-dandruff shampoo a try. Luckily for me this new range from Elvive had just been released so I thought i'd try it. I've been using it for a couple of months now and I have to say i've been very impressed with the results. I've found the dandruff / dry skin has completely gone. I was suffering with a flaky scalp but this has manged to combat any flaky bits. My hair itself is damaged and dehydrated from colouring and i've found the conditioner has worked great at getting that hydration back into my hair and re-balancing the oils to combat greasy roots. I've found my scalp is feeling much better since i've started using this range and also my hair is very manageable and looks great since using the range.

I've just been into boots today and repurchased the shampoo and conditioner as i'm nearly all out and i've really enjoyed using this shampoo and conditioner and found it's really helped my scalp. Usually when someone recommends an anti-dandruff shampoo, i'd think my only option would be Head and Shoulders, i'm so glad I looked into alternatives and found this.

The Loreal Elvive range is still on offer in boots, 3 for £10 meaning you can get the shampoo, conditioner and the mask, giving you the chance to try the whole range!

REVIEW: ROSIE FOR AUTOGRAPH FIRST IMPRESSIONS

I've been giving the New Rosie for Autograph collection from M&S a go and thought i'd share my first impressions with you guys.

First up the packaging as you can probably see for yourself is beautiful. It looks really expensive and the rose gold colour is so pretty. It feels really nice and sturdy, great quality for the money.

I haven't tried the whole range yet but I thought i'd share my first impressions for the bits and pieces I have been using. The range has something for everyone eyeshadows, bronzers, lip products and much more.

I've been giving some of the eyeshadows a try, this eyeshadow palette is gorgeous. It's got a lovely selection of shades perfect for any everyday eye look. You can create a really nice natural smokey eye look using this palette too! With a range of pearl and matte finishes you can create a number of different looks. This palette is great for anyone and is really easy to use and blend. I really want to pick up another palette, I like the shades in Copper Gold Rush which is more pinky/ gold shades.
The palette is a great price at only £18

I've been testing out the eyeshadow sticks too, these are so creamy. I'm not a huge fan of eyeshadow sticks as I prefer powder shadows but these are very easy to use and such a handy thing to have.
I find the shadow sticks are great when your in a hurry and just want a pop of colour. The shades I have are really easy versatile everyday colours. Just a sweep over the lid and your good to go. I think these are perfect for everyday and they last really well. The colour payoff is really good and again i'm really impressed with the quality for just £12.50 They come in a few different shades, I love Almond Eyes, it's a beautiful pink/ gold shade.

I've tried the Bronzer a couple of times, it's a nice light shade which is great as I have fair skin and it blends really well. I like the colour, it gives me a nice natural glow. It's easy to apply and the packaging is just gorgeous. The palette has a mirror which is always an added bonus. I think this product is really easy to build up so you can build up the colour from day - night.

I've also tried the Insta Lash mascara, I found it lengthens the lashes really well. I went over the top of my lashes with another mascara to add more volume as this one didn't really give the volume I like from my mascara. The mascara does lengthen the lashes and defines the lashes. I really like to apply this first and add the length to my lashes and then follow with another mascara for more volume. This is a really nice finish for everyday.

I still need to give the lip products a try and the cream blusher so keep an eye out for those in a full review. I am seriously loving the Rosie for Autograph range and the packaging is just gorgeous. The quality of the make up is spot on and the price is good. The brand is Cruelty Free too which i'm sure lots of people will be pleased to hear as they offer a huge range of different products.
