REVIEW: ECO BY NATY RANGE

USE CODE 'AMYPYT' FOR 15% OFF

We have recently been trying out the Eco by Naty range. We were lucky enough to get a few of their lovely products in the post so we've been giving them a go for a few weeks and I thought i'd let you know how Amelia has been getting on with them and what I think of the range.

First of all Naty is a biodegradable and environmentally friendly brand. They started off by creating a Eco-friendly nappy and now they have a full range products including wipes, pull on pants and bath and body care.

Let's start with their nappies, I really wanted to use re-usable nappies but as we live in a small flat I don't really have anywhere to keep them, hang them to dry etc so decided to use disposable nappies. I like the idea of using biodegradable nappies as this is a little more environmentally friendly. These nappies feel really soft and gentle on babies skin but are tough and not flimsy. They are very absorbent and haven't leaked at all. They are certified by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association. Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association is a Swedish national association working to improve the conditions and the understanding of people living with asthma, allergy, intolerance and hyper sensitivity. The only downside about these nappies is the price, they are on the pricey side and a little more than i'd like to spend on nappies however if you are in the market for a Eco-friendly, disposable nappy they are a reasonable price.

As well as the nappies we have been using the Sensitive wipes (the unscented ones) on Amelia, I haven't tried the lightly scented ones on her yet as her skin is really really sensitive and she has had reactions to wipes in the past. The wipes are nice, not too wet or dry. They are very soft and gentle. The scented wipes smell nice and fresh, not chemically. The wipes are 98.5% water so designed to be gentle on sensitive skin. They are hypoallergenic so don't irritate the skin and prevent nappy rash.

Another product i've been using is the Baby Bath Foam. It contains No fragrances. No parabens. No mineral oils. Which is great and means I don't have to worry about using it on Amelia's sensitive skin. It doesn't have a scent so is really gentle on baby. It leaves skin feeling clean and soft. It's so gentle you can use it everyday, it won't dry out babies skin.

One product I was really impressed with was the nappy sacks, I tend to buy any old nappy sacks but these are such a good idea. There's no point in using a biodegradable nappy and then putting it into a plastic bag and visa versa! They are so thick and such a lovely quality, they come on a roll so easy to use. They are a nice design, cream with green leaves.

I haven't tried the nappy cream yet, Amelia doesn't suffer with a sore bottom (hasn't yet) so haven't needed to try this yet but the nappy cream is Hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested and again suitable for everyday use. It's a healing organic rash cream with tried and tested natural ingredients that will soothe irritated skin and reduce redness often caused by trapped moisture.

I have been really impressed with the Naty products and would love to try some of their other products, especially more of their Bath and Body care range. I would really reccommend their nappies if you are looking for a Eco-Diaper.

REVIEW: HAPE BABY DRUM

A few weeks ago Amelia was sent this lovely Hape Baby Drum in the post. We've been loving it so I thought i'd feature it in a full review.

Hape are the worlds largest producer of wooden toys! They have a huge range of toys for all age groups!

The Hape baby drum is such a lovely product, it is made from quality materials so is super strong and has passed vigorous testing so is really safe for babies from 6 months.

The Drum has some really cool features. It flashes bright colourful lights when used. You can bang it like a normal drum and it makes a loud drum noise or if you roll it, it will play a funky beat which is supposed to engage your baby and encourage them to crawl after the drum!

Amelia has just started crawling and loves following her drum around the living room! She loves rolling it and dancing along to the little tune that it plays, she can bang the drum but she much prefers the funky tune. She can pick it up really easily because it's light, she likes rolling around the floor with it. It's bright and a fun toy to play with! It would make a lovely gift or perfect for your own little one!

PARENTING: BATHTIME WITH BAMBO NATURE

We recently went along to a blogger event at Kelmarsh Hall with Bambo Nature Uk, You can see my full post here all about the lovely event we attended and all about the brand. We were gifted lots of lovely products from their range including some of their skincare bits and pieces. I thought i'd review the skincare products as we've been using them alot recently.

Bambo Nature have an amazing range of products including Eco-Disposable nappies and wipes. As well as their nappies and wipes they have released a new vegan, cruelty free skincare range.

The Bambo Nature range is accredited by several certification organisations that guarantee the safe use and environmental friendliness of the products. The Nordic Eco-label on the Bambo Nature range is your guarantee that the products are certified to be environment-friendly.

The brand are not just accredited by the Nordic-Eco Label but also Asthma and Allergy Denmark and Dermatology tested. This means these products are less likely to cause any irritation, eczema or allergy on babies skin. Unfortunately for us we have found that Amelia does seem to be allergic to the nappies and wipes but she has very sensitive skin and i'm actually allergic to a lot of more natural products so I wouldn't let that put you off. We have tried some of their skincare range which so far so good... no allergies. The brand have actually won loads of awards for their products which you can check out  here on their website.

First up is the Splish Splash Bath Oil, this is made with mild, natural oils that help maintain the skins moisture balance and leave it soft. I really like this bath oil as it's not greasy and leaves Amelia's skin feeling really soft and smooth. I love using the bath oil to do baby massage, I tend to do it just before bathtime, the oil heats up well by rubbing the hands together and it is really easy to rub into the skin. Amelia has very sensitive skin and has allergies and eczema so I have to be careful when using new skincare products on her. We haven't had any issues with the Bambo Nature skincare products which is great.

My favourite product is the Bath Buddy hair & body wash, again it's great for Amelia's sensitive skin. I love that I can use the one product all over so I don't have to mess about using different products. It's so gentle that it doesn't irritate her eyes so it doesn't matter if a little water goes in her eye. The wash leaves her hair looking really nice a clean and it smells good too even though it contains no perfumes, this minimizes the risk of allergy.

I'm loving the Bambo Nature skincare range, and love that it's all Vegan and really sensitive and gentle for perfect for newborn baby skin. As I mentioned above Amelia has Eczema and we have tried other skincare brands and shes had bad reactions to products or they have really dried her skin out but we've found that the Bambo Nature skincare is great for her skin and it leaves it feeling super soft but also really clear.

PARENTING: PRODUCTS WE USE WHEN AMELIA IS POORLY

Amelia is now 7 months old and shes had a few coughs and colds. It's such a horrible feeling when your baby isn't well and you feel like there's nothing you can do. I thought i'd feature a few products we've used when Amelia has been poorly and a few tips on how to make them a little more comfortable.

I found that Amelia is most uncomfortable during the night so when she has a cold or cough I would use the Calpol Vapour plug in her room. You just plug it in and you replace a cartridge each night which releases vapours into the air, this eases breathing during the night, we've found it works well for Amelia.

We've been using a few products from Snufflebabe to help relieve Amelia when shes been poorly, I really like the Nasal Spray and find this works really well at clearing her blocked nose. I find it's a bit easier to use that the nasal drops.

We have also been using the Snufflebabe nasal drops, it's a saline solution which you can use along side the nasal aspirator or on it's own to clear blocked noses. This just makes baby more comfortable as you can't really get a baby to blow their nose which is usually all they need to do.

I feel like the Nasal drops and nasal spray really clear the nose and throat of mucus and help Amelia to breathe much easier and stops her nose from irritating her.

Honestly she's not a huge fan of having the saline put in her nose and usually kicks off but she feels much better afterwards. My favourite thing about the Snufflebabe products is they are suitable from birth ( apart from the vapour rub which is 3 months) as some products have weight restrictions and some are from a certain age and when your baby is sick you just want a product on hand that you can use right away without worrying about whether shes old enough or big enough to use it.

Similar to the Snufflebabe vapour rub is the Mustela Chest Rub, we were sent this a while ago and have recently been using as Amelias had a few colds, I like this because it's a cream not a balm and it rubs into the skin really easily. Again it's suitable from birth which is great. The pine scent promotes comfort and relaxes the baby. I love that it comes in a tube as usually vapour rubs come in a pot that you have to stick your finger in and I prefer a tube that you can squeeze product out.

These are a few of the products we have been using with Amelia, alongside Calpol if shes really uncomfortable but I think these products are great at helping move mucus and relieving her and making her more comfortable. Another thing we do when shes snuffly is bring her into the bathroom and either run and hot shower or bath and this helps them breathe easier too. I usually put some relaxing music on my phone and light some candles and we will chill out. We have also tried some baby massage as this can help them breathe and unblock any mucus that is stuck.

REVIEW: YOOMI SELF-WARMING BOTTLE

We recently received the Yoomi Self-Warming Bottle to review. We have used it a few times so I thought i'd share my thoughts.

I hadn't heard of the Yoomi bottle so when I heard about it I was so intrigued to find out how it worked. The bottle contains a heating element that heats milk up as it pours out of the bottle. The heating element is warm for up to an hour meaning your bottle will stay warm for an hour.

The idea is that you would have a bottle of milk that is cold/ room temperature and it heat up to body temperature. You can use breastmilk or formula with the Yoomi Self- Warming bottle.

The first thing that popped into my head when I heard about the Yoomi Self-warming bottle was the fact that I wouldn't need to get out of bed to do the night feed! I followed the instructions and sterilized and heated the heating element using the microwave. I took the bottle, heating element and a ready-made bottle of formula to bed with us. I used a ready-made as they can be stored at room temperature and I felt that making up a bottle would be a waste because it would only last 2 hours and Amelia doesn't usually wake till around 4am. She woke up and I poured the ready made into the Yoomi bottle and as instructed I pressed the button and left for 30 seconds and then I turned the bottle upside down and again left for 30 seconds and just like that the milk was ready and warm and Amelia drank it with no problems at all. I was a little worried as we've always used Mam bottles and the Yoomi is very different but she took to it right away and she drank all of her milk. I like that once you have got the heating element ready that you can use it anytime and as long as you dont press the button it will be ready. It was lovely not having to get out of bed to do the night-feed as Amelia is still sleeping next to us in our room. I liked that it was ready in 60 seconds. It's really easy to use, it's literally the push of a button.

I haven't taken it of the house yet but again the concept is great for being out and about, there's no need to worry about how your going to heat the milk up. We are planning on going for a few picnics over the next few weeks and this will be perfect to bring along so I don't have to worry about how i'm going to heat up Amelia's milk.

The Yoomi Self-warming bottle retails from £23.95* Right now they are on offer for £17.99 and include a free warmer worth £15.

I think the bottle is fab and I really wish we had it when Amelia was younger and was feeding every few hours during the night. I think it will be fab for people who are breastfeeding and want to express some milk as it will heat the breastmilk up really easily to body temperature. I loved that I didn't have to get out of bed to feed Amelia, it heats the milk to the perfect temperature and it's so straight-forward and easy to use.

BABY: BABY SHOWER/ NEW BABY GIFT IDEAS

I was talking to my sister the other day about useful gifts. Amelia is such a lucky baby and we are very lucky to have such wonderful people around us who wanted to give us and Amelia gifts. I had a baby shower so was gifted alot of products at that and then we received more gifts when she was born and then even more for Christmas.

I thought i'd share a few nice gift ideas and some useful gifts. Are you someone who usually buys a blanket or a comforter or teddy? Amelia has so many blankets and even more soft toys, it just seems a waste because there are some that she will never play with or use the same with the blankets, she just has so many and we use them alot but we tend to have our favourites that we stick to.

If you want to buy a soft cuddly toy why not opt for a personalised teddy like this bunny from My1stYears, it's abit more personal and will be a lovely keepsake.

These little Enamel Pins from Old English Company are a lovely gift idea for an expecting or new mum. They will look fab on a changing bag or mum can pop them on her favourite jacket! Head over to the Old English Company website to enter their competition to win a set of Enamel Pins including this 'The no sleep gang' one pictured above.

One of my friends bought us some weaning bits for Christmas and it was such a good gift. Weaning just kind of springs up on you and all of a sudden you need to buy bowls, spoons, cups, highchairs, bibs etc and it becomes quite over-whelming and expensive. We have these munchkin spoons and they are really good. We picked up a few bits from Boots, mostly Nuby, Munchkin and Boots own brand bits. They actually have their baby event on right now so you can save yourself some money.

The Lamaze toys are amazing, Amelia loves them. She has a couple of things and my sister has the peacock and Amelia loves that too! I'm going to buy her one on payday. They are really bright and colourful and have lots of sensory bits for baby to play with. I spotted a few of the Lamaze toys on 2 for £15 over on Argos which is a bargain as they usually retail for around £11+ each. Clint's mom actually bought Amelia a Lamaze toy for Christmas and she loves it! We didn't open it right away and it was lovely having it in her room and when I thought she was ready and would appreciate it I got it out of the box and didn't have to worry about popping to the shop or spending money on toys.

We were bought lots and lots of bubble bath, shampoo and baby lotions etc... alot of it was Johnsons and I know there's lots of controversy about Johnsons not being great for baby as it can be drying. I have really sensitive skin so there was a good chance Amelia would too, she actually has eczema so I ended up giving so so much Johnsons stuff away, we were actually told by the HV not to use it on Amelia. I was gifted some bits from Burts Bee's and Child's Farm and i'd really recommended buying something from one of these brands if you wanted to buy skincare bits as a gift.

I'm loving this Print from Old English Company, they have lots of other prints to choose from, it's another nice keepsake gift to receive. The parents can pop them up in the nursery and they will be there for a good few years. It's a nice gift and makes the nursery look more finished and personal.

I hope you liked my gift ideas. I think they would make lovely gifts for a baby shower or to celebrate the arrival of a new baby. You don't need to spend loads of money, all of these gifts are very affordable. I don't want to sound unappreciative but we got so so many useless gifts and I feel bad that people wasted money. I have already donated things that we haven't used so that less fortunate people can benefit from these things.

REVIEW: SnüzPouch SLEEPING BAG

SnüzPouch Sleeping Bag 2.5tog -Wave Mono

We have been using the SnüzPouchfor a couple of months now and I thought i'd feature it in a full review today. The SnüzPouch is a sleeping bag for babies, the 0-6 months pouch is suitable for babies from 4kg so we couldn't use it from birth with Amelia because she was small but it fits her beautifully now.

The SnüzPouch is available in lots of colours and prints and aswell as the 2.5 tog they are available in 1.0 tog

The SnüzPouch has a handy zip that makes nighttime changes really easy, the zips are kept safe and secure too away from baby.

It's made from super soft cotton so it's really gentle and soft on babies skin. It's really comfy and cosy and keeps Amelia nice and warm at night. The 2.5 tog is perfect all year round and will last her a good few months. She has loads of growing room and the poppers make it lovely and snug around her arms so it doesn't move around.

I love the monochrome print, I just love the modern print and think the contrasting colours look fab.

We haven't got a 6months + sleeping bag just yet but I think we will seriously consider the SnüzPouch again because I think it's such a lovely quality, it's super soft and they do some lovely prints and colours so they look great. It's washed up really well and I have to wash it very often as Amelia is quite sicky. I feel that the SnüzPouch is quite expensive in comparison to some of the other sleeping bags but it's such a lovely quality and I know it washes well.

REVIEW: HELLO SNUGGLES

We recently received a couple of products from www.hellosnuggles.com so I thought I would share the products with you and let you know what we think of them.

Hello Snuggles is an online store that sells loads of baby products from blankets to snuggles, swaddles, bibs and many more. They have a really good selection of different products and lots of colours and patterns to choose from

The first product we have is the Giraffe Snuggle, a snuggle is like a comforter. It has a blanket bit and then the Giraffe head is attached. The Snuggle is so so soft, it's a lovely fleece material. I have washed this and it's washed up like brand new. The colours are lovely and I think the Giraffe is so cute, a little unusual. You normally get bears or a bunny on baby toys such as this. Hello Snuggle do lots of other animals too such as an Elephant, Owl and a Fox.

The other product we have is this gorgeous pink fluffy blanket. It's a really lovely size, it's not too big but not too small. It fits really well in Amelia's carry cot on the pram. It's been perfect during the cold weather we've been having. As you can see it's folded really nice and tied up with a bow so would make a lovely baby shower gift. The material is so soft and fluffy and just such a lovely blanket. I thought it would be perfect for those newborn photos and it's so soft and gentle on baby's skin.

I'm super happy with both of the products we have been sent over, the quality is amazing and they are both lovely products. They have lots of lovely products that would make lovely gifts for someone who is expecting a baby or as a gift for the newborn.

REVIEW: ERGOPOUCH COCOON SWADDLE AND SLEEP BAG

We have been using the Ergopouch Cocoon Swaddle and Sleep bag with Amelia since she was two weeks old. Up to this point we were swaddling her with blankets. I was abit worried about using a sleeping bag with Amelia because she was so small I felt like they would just swamp her but the Ergopouch was perfect. It's a size 0-3 month so it's smaller than the other sleeping bags on the market that seem to be size 0-6.

The Ergopouch sleep bag fitted Amelia really well. It has poppers on the arms so I could tighten the arms so it fits her better and stops it from moving around. I like this feature because I could tighten the fit but also I have the poppers open now that Amelia is bigger.
It zips down the front and you can upzip it easily for nighttime changes. We found it really easy to change Amelia throughout the night. We were having to wake her up for feeds for a while so we were waking every 3-4 hours so we changed her alot throughout the night.

We have only just started using some of our other sleeping bags as Amelia is now 9lb 4oz and I think they fit her now. So she has only been wearing the Ergopouch pretty much every night since she was born. We have washed it nearly every single day and it still looks like new. It has bobble slightly but you would expect this with something thats been washed so much. The colour still looks great and all the zips and poppers look intact.

We have the 2.5 tog bag as we knew Amelia was due in November so would need a winter sleeping bag. This has been perfect, it keeps her nice and toasty but not too hot or cold. The also do a 0.2 tog so thats perfect for a summer baby.

We love the Ergopouch Cocoon, we've started getting Amelia into more of a routine so we pop her in at around 8pm for her feed and we pop her into her bed. She goes down so well, I think she sleeps loads better in her sleeping bag in the night, we tend to use blankets in the day and she just kicks them off and they bug her.

I'm going to look into buying the next size up in a summer tog for Amelia as she doesn't have a summer tog yet and we've found the Ergopouch so easy to use, it's washed up really well and Amelia settles so well in it. There's lots of other products on the Ergopouch website and they seem to have lots of promotions over on their site too so check them out.

REVIEW: BURTS BEES BABY BUBBLE BATH AND SHAMPOO

Incase you didn't know I recently had a baby, (HELLO AMELIA ) and I'm hoping to start featuring some kind of parenting / new baby type of blog posts. I want to write updates about Amelia and document this time as a new parent. I also want to write product reviews and share products that I would recommend buying and products that I think are a waste of money. I will still be featuring beauty, fashion and lifestyle on my blog and I will try and alternate my posts so it's not all baby posts or all beauty etc. Please give me some time to get back into blogging as I've been pretty absent since having Amelia as sitting down to blog is hard when you have a needy newborn who doesn't want to be put down

Today I want to review some of the Burts Bees baby range as this is pretty much what we've used on Amelia since she was born. I did try and refrain from using any products at all, just water for the first couple of weeks because her skin is quite sensitive. I found her hair was looking quite greasy and wanted to use a shampoo on her. We had quite a big selection of baby products to choose from ( she literally has more shampoo, bath products, cleansers, creams than me) I opted for Burts Bees because they are a natural brand and I was hoping she wouldn't have any kind of reaction to their products.
I tried the shampoo first and she seemed to be fine so I continued to use this. It cleans her hair well, it lathers up well and you only need a tiny bit so a little goes a long way. It smells nice, the fragrance is very subtle and gentle. I only need to wash her hair once, maybe twice a week ( shes quite a sicky baby and manages to get sick everywhere) This is also a wash you can use it all over which is very handy. It leaves Amelia's skin feeling soft and clean. We have a few other shampoo products to use up but I think I will repurchase the shampoo and wash as I know it works really well for Amelia. Burts Bees products are easy to get hold of as they are usually stocked in Boots and Holland and Barrett

Once we had used the shampoo and was happy that she didn't have any reactions etc we tried the bubble bath, I pretty much use this everytime she has a bath, again you only need a little bit as they don't have much water in the bath. It's a lovely fresh, gentle scent. It creates some lovely bubbles which makes bathtime a little more fun for your little one. You can use the suds to wash baby. Amelia loves bath time so it's nice to have lovely products like these to use one her.

Both of the products are mild and tear free so you don't have to worry too much about it going in their eyes. I have a few other products from the Burts Bees baby range to try and i'm looking forward to giving them ago.
