SUMMER: WHAT MAKE UP I'M TAKING ON MY HOLIDAY

EEEK LESS THAN A WEEK TO GO!!

I'm off to Turkey in just under a week and I have to say i'm so excited to get away from the UK and the rubbish weather! I thought i'd share my holiday make up bag and what i'm taking to turkey with me.

Since I took these photos I have picked up a few extra bits but this is the main bulk of products that will be coming with me. First up my base products, i'll be bringing my favourite concealer which is Collection, lasting perfection in the shade fair. Nars Sheer Glow* for the evening. I picked up a Rimmel BB cream yesterday for the daytime. For my contour i'm bringing my Becca highlighter in Champagne Pop and the Collection contour kit which is such a handy little product. The Bronzer is a gorgeous shade and the highlight side is a really lovely shade which I use under my eye to set my concealer to brighten the eye area. I've also popped my trusty faithful Clarins Bronzer *as this is one of my favourite bronzers for whilst i'm on holiday and you can use a really big brush and give yourself a little bit of colour all over your body.

Lip Products! I haven't gone crazy with lip products, i'll be bringing my Clarins comfort lip oil *for in the day and then i've picked out a couple of liquid lipsticks, this Maybelline Vivid Matte Lip which is a lovely pinky nude and one of the Revlon Matte HD lip colours in a nude/ pink shade too. I'm also bringing this Sexy Mother Pucker Matte Lipstick* in this gorgeous red shade as i'm loving matte lips right now! I will also be bringing Mac Velvet Teddy and I might pick up a lipstick in Duty Free, what shall I go for?

A few other bits that i'm taking along include my trusty faithfull eye liner, Rimmel Exaggerate liner in black and my NYX brow pencil. I will also be bringing Glow by Topshop which is a really good multi-use product which I use as a highlight on my brow bone and cupids bow but it's a handy eye-shadow too. Another trusty faithfull is the Urban Decay Potion Primer in Sin, this is a gorgeous eye primer and you can wear it alone or apply your eyeshadow over the top for a gorgeous colour and really good staying power. I'm going to be using my Stila palette whilst i'm away as it has a really good mixtures of mattes and shimmers and has a really good selection of shades.

A few new things i'm going to try whilst i'm in Turkey include the Maybelline Colossal mascara and the new Soap and Glory Archery Volu-Boost* to give my brows more definition. I'm also going to try the new Soap and Glory WonderBronze* which is a bronzer in a stick, i've had a little play and I love it so far!

I tend to wear a little bit of bb cream in the day and fill my brows in and then do my make up on the evening, what are your must have staples for your holiday make up bag?

REVIEW: MAYBELLINE COLOR DRAMA LIPSTICK

MAYBELLINE COLOR DRAMA LIPSTICK IN NUDE PERFECTION - £4.99 - BOOTS

So I spotted the lovely Sophia from TATTOOED TEALADY blogged about this Mac Velvet Teddy dupe, I just had to pick it up and try it for myself. Velvet Teddy has to be my favourite lipstick ever. It's the perfect nude, Mac matte lipsticks are amazing, I have a fair few in my collection. My Velvet Teddy is starting to wear down so when Sophia mentioned this dupe for a bargain £4.99 I had to get it. Velvet Teddy is the brown/ nude shade that every blogger seems to be wearing right now. Recently Kylie Jenner shared her secret and let out that to create her iconic lip shes uses Velvet Teddy lipstick by Mac, and also the Mac Soar and Whirl lip liners.

I popped into boots last week to get some lunch and this fell into my basket. I haven't tried any Maybelline lip products for awhile. I have to say these color drama lipsticks are amazing, They are like a lip pencil and come in a selection of colours. The consistancy of Nude Perfection is so creamy, it glides on really easily and lasts all day. The finish is matte and its just such a lovely creamy finish, not drying at all. The colour is so so close to Velvet Teddy, like Sophia said Velvet Teddy is slightly warmer in shade, ( see swatches below)

I've been wearing Nude Perfection since I picked it up last week, I just love it and for £10 cheaper I will be picking it up again. I might have to stock up! It's a perfect everyday nude and a great dupe for Velvet Teddy.

Overall for a bargain price of £4.99 I don't think you can go wrong with Nude Perfection by Maybelline color drama stick. It's a must have product if your after a cheap nude lip product, maybe if your not sure about splurging £15 for Velvet Teddy?  I'd say give this ago first!

MINI REVIEW: Latest Beauty Buys

Mua Pro Brow Kit
Maybelline Dream Satin Liuid
Maybelline Fit Foundation Stick

Here's a few bits and pieces i've been using recently. I needed a new brow kit and really wanted to try out the foundation stick.

I've been using the foundation stick as a concealer, I've been applying it directly to the skin and then using my ecoTOOLS concealer brush to blend it in. It's a lovely creamy formula which blends in really easily. I'm finding it really easy to use. It doesnt leave my skin looking cakey at all. The coverage is good and it's covering my blemishes and dark circles. I would'nt wear this as a foundation but it's working well as a concealer for me.

I've reviewed the brow kit here

The foundation is actually really nice as well. I tend to stick to the same foundations but after trying the Wake me up foundation I was tempted to try more drug store foundations. The formula is really creamy and makes my skin feel lovely and looking dewy. Its long lasting and along side the Maybelline fit foundation stick gave good coverage. I would purchase this again as I found it worked really well for me personally. I've been applying it with my Real Techniques buffing brush and i'm happy with the finish this gives me.

REVIEW : MAYBELLINE BABY SKIN

MAYBELLINE NEW YORK BABY SKIN - £7.99 - BOOTS

I'm a sucker for a blogger buy and bright packaging so it's no surprise that this ended up in my basket. Boots are always doing 3 for 2 so it was inevitable that I would buy this.

Its a 'pore eraser lightweight primer'

Honestly i'm not a massive fan, it doesn't do anything for my pores and it isn't a very good primer. In my opinion a primer should prepare the skin for make up application and make your make up last longer and stay longer. I feel when I wear this that my make up seems to go patchy in areas and come off easier.

As I said above it also doesn't do anything for my pores. It makes my skin feel soft and flawless but it doesn't fill my pores therefore it leaves my skin pretty much the same as if I used no primer.

I will continue trialing this but honestly it does nothing for me and at £7.99 I think it's not worth the money.

It might be different for your skin and if you have had different results i'd love to hear but i'm not impressed !

REVIEW : Maybelline Baby Lips

Cherry me // Intense care // Mint Fresh // Hydrate - £2.99 from Boots

I had to jump on the Baby lips bandwagon. I had intended to stay well well away but then I spotted them in boots and daniel offered to buy me some so I got all the ones they had. I still want the other two and may have to get them online.

First of all if your store doesn't appear to stock the Baby lips then ask someone. Maybelline don't have any official shelving or fixtures for the babylips so some stores are keeping them locked in drawers, my store had them hanging from those plastic things around the maybelline section and i've seen stores having them on random tables. This is the same situation in boots and superdrug.

Cherry me is a tinted balm and i'm sure a couple of the others are but out of the ones I bought Cherry me is the only one. It's not over-powering cherry which is good because i'm not massive fan of cherry. It's super subtle and so moisturising which is lovely.

Hydrate and intense care are pretty similar but are both equally nice and Mint fresh is similar but with a minty smell.

The baby lips are a blogger hype but worth it for £2.99 these are amazing little balms to pop in your bag for that added moisture. I love getting these out because they look amazing and so cool. I've had many people ask what they are and when they can buy them. For £2.99 get some now before they disappear!
