[GIFTED] REVIEW : THECOFFEEMATE.CO.UK

I was recently sent a few bits from http://www.thecoffeemate.co.uk, if you haven't heard of them then be sure to check them out for all of you coffee related needs! They stock everything you need from Coffee to Coffee Machines, cups and much more...

I thought i'd share the bits i've been sent and my first impressions!

First up we have been sent The Ground Coffee Set Café Liégeois, this is a fab little set as you get three different types of coffee so you can try it and choose your favourites. The set includes a good variety of strengths so there is something to suit every coffee lover. If your looking to purchase ground coffee and your not sure what to go for then i'd recommend this set.

Next up is the Thermo Cup Asobu Diva V600, I got it in this gorgeous pink colour! I'm in love with it. I've used it quite a few times now. It's perfect for on the go! It fits into any bag with ease as its a great size! It's not too big, I fit a big cath kidston mug of tea/coffee into it. It keeps your drink super hot all day long!! I've used it when i've been at events for the day and i've used it when i've taken Amelia to the park it's just super handy if you want to bring a drink out with you from home. It fits in all cup holders! The flip open neck is a lovely feature and the design of the lip makes it super easy to drink from on the go! I really can't fault this cup it's fab!!

Next is the Thermo cup Asobu 'Le Baton Copper' which is another beautiful travel mug. This is more your normal flask design. The copper lid lovely and very on trend. It's spill proof and will keep your drinks at temperature for up to 8 hours which is perfect for everyday.

Finally if the water bottle Asobu 'Flavour U See Gold' This is a really stunning water bottle. I get soooo many compliments on it at work! I love that you can add fruit to your water without getting all the bitty/pulpy bits in your drink. The separate section for your fruit is a great design feature. You don't have to add fruit if you don't want to, it works great without! The gold design is gorgeous and really eye-catching with the glass window in the middle. This is also spill proof so perfect for everyday! It keeps your water cool for 12 hours!!

I'm super happy with my new bottles, they are all fab! We are going away in a couple of weeks and these will be perfect for the long drive!! We can keep our drinks nice and hot and water nice and cold for the journey!

LIFESTYLE: 10 WAYS TO UPDATE YOUR HOME FOR SPRING

Spring is on its way, well, according to the calendar anyway, the weather seems to have other ideas. But whilst we wait for it to show its face in terms of sun and warmth, there are some small additions and chances you can make to your home to ensure it’s ready for spring.

These are the simple ways to update your home for spring this year.

Change your cushion covers and throws
Cushions and throws are easy ways to add some colours into your rooms, and whilst heavy jacquard and velvet fabrics work well through autumn/winter, changing them for linen materials and printed cottons makes them ideal for spring/summer.

Switch from deep and dark colours through winter to lighter and brighter shades in the summer months.

New bedding
Give your bedroom a new look with some printed bedding or a clean and crisp new set. Again choose something bright and light that will give the room a clean feeling that we associate with the brighter days of spring.

Flowers
Floras for spring might not seem revolutionary, but it works. As much as we love the idea of plants throughout the house, make your home spring-ready with the addition of flowers. Whilst it might not be cost effective to have fresh flowers in every room, add in some fake ones to the spaces that you don’t sit for hours.
Keep fresh flowers in your living room or kitchen, and then add in some fake ones to your bedroom, bathroom or dining room. This way you’ll add some instant colour to the space and won’t have to worry about replacing them regularly.

Colour
Add bright colours or pastels to your rooms in the forms of vases or other trinkets, perfect if your rooms are mainly neutral shades as this will definitely make them more spring ready.

Rearrange furniture
Give a room a new look by simply moving around the furniture if you can. It’ll take a little heavy lifting and effort, but it won’t cost you a thing and you’ll give the space a whole new look.

Solar garden lights
With the days getting longer, and hopefully the sun making a more regular appearance adding in some First Lighting solar garden lights will make your garden instantly more appealable. If you have some lights outside you’re more likely to utilise the space once the sun has gone down, and solar garden lights are easy to install and incredibly cost effective too.

New scents
Change the scent of your rooms and home by adding in some new room diffusers and candles. Keep things light and fresh which are perfect for spring and summer.

Remove clutter
If you’d prefer your home to be bright and clean for spring, you might prefer to pack things away like cushions, throws, vases etc. Remove bits of clutter from the rooms and keep things tidy this season.

Replace curtains
Change the curtains in your home from heavy fabrics, to lighter and thinner design which are great to let even more light into the rooms. Perfect for when the sun is shining the whole day.

Bring more light to your hallway
The hallway is the first place that guests will see, and if your hallway doesn’t get a lot of natural sunlight, it might be best to add some lights to the space so that it’s bright and light throughout summer. Interesting and fun table lamps will add novelty, or keep things fuss-free with wall lights.

Buy a new rug! You wouldn't believe how much difference a rug makes to a room. I'm actually on the lookout for a new rug for our living room as ours is just getting old and tired. I'm after something light and neutral so if I change the colours of the room that it will still fit in. By going for a nice light colour i'm hoping that the room will look fresher and bigger. We have carpet in our living room so i've used the infographic below to help pick out the perfect rug. We have quite thin carpets so I think a nice thick rug will add some texture to the room.

CHRISTMAS: DECORATING OUR TREE WITH AMARA

I love decorating the tree, it's one of my favourite things about the season. I always get so excited about decorating the tree. We make a night of it and watch Christmas films and have big mugs of hot chocolate with cream and marshmellows.

We've had our tree for a couple of years now, and i'm still happy with my colour theme, I went for a mixture of metals so there's lots of Gold, Silver, Rose Gold, Bronze and copper decorations. This year I decided to add a little bit of pink to the tree as we've had a little girl but also i've added some blush pink soft furnishings to our living room like cushions and throws so this ties everything together.

Most of our baubles were from B&M, we bought a few packs of baubles and then I picked up some unique baubles from places like John Lewis and Oliver Bonas.

This year i've kindly been sent a few gorgeous decorations from Amara.com They have a really lovely selection of Christmas Decorations to choose from and alot of them have now been discounted so you can get yourself some gorgeous luxury decorations for less.

The Angel Wings  came in a pack of two. They are a really decent size and a gorgeous gold/ silver glitter finish. They really stand out on the tree and lots of people have commented on them.

The two pink baubles are also from Amara, I love the fluffy one, it's so pretty and is really unique. The other pink one has sequins on and is also really lovely. The shade of pink is perfect and I think it really ties the whole tree together. I actually picked up the pink 'First Christmas' bauble from a little stall in our local shopping center but I think this works well with the pink baubles from Amara.

The personalised baubles are from Selfridges, I picked them up a couple of years ago, i'm not sure if they still do them but I've just ordered Amelia a personalised one from Notonthehighstreet.com and i've seen that Next have started a personalised range.

Make sure you head on over to Amara.com as I said they have discounted all of their decorations so you can get yourself some gorgeous pieces for your tree for less. Head on over and let me know what your favourite decoration is, they have a really cool pineapple decoration that I might have to order.

INTERIORS: BABY GIRL NURSERY INSPO

ALL IMAGES FROM PINTEREST

AHH! Where is the time going? We are 29 weeks pregnant and our little bubba will be here in about 11 weeks and her nursery is nowhere near ready. I know this isn't a big deal as she won't be sleeping in there right away but i'd love to get it ready for when she arrives as I know time will just fly by once she's here and she's gonna be 6 months and transitioning into her room before we know it.

First up i'm gonna keep the room very neutral overall. The walls will be staying white and the furniture is all white and we will get her a white cot very soon. Her room is a bit on the smaller size so shes gonna have a little white cot not a huge cot-bed

I'm planning on getting grey and pink accessories for the room. I'm loving blush pink right now so I want to get her a nice rug and maybe some nice prints for the walls. I love this mobile with the grey and pink moon and stars.

I really want to have somewhere for her books to go and i've seen a few people use Ikea picture shelves as little mini book shelves, we don't have much room but I think this is a really good way of adding some colour to the room as well as having her books out without taking up lots of room with a full on book shelf.

I'm loving the grey and white and think I might get a nice set of grey curtains or a grey blind and maybe include some more grey accessories to pull the room together and break up some of the pink.

I want to have a little changing area, we already have a set of Malm drawers in her room so we intend on using this as a changing table space. Inside we can keep all of her vests, bodysuits etc as well as some of her nappies and things we will be using everyday. We need to get a changing mat to pop on top of the drawers and then I also want some shelving that I can pop some of her soft toys and books etc on to make the room more pretty.

I think bunting is going to be a great way for us to add some colour to the room, we rent so I don't want to go crazy and start painting the room pink but some pretty bunting will make the room more girly.

I'm gonna get some wicker baskets to have on the floor to keep some of her toys inside so that she can easily to get them and play with her toys, I might get some of these for the living room too. They still look nice but you can tidy the toys away when shes finished playing.

As the room is small we need to maximise the storage space. we've already bought some extra shelving and rails for our wardrobe, as we have a big Ikea wardrobe and will keep some of her clothes in here aswell as in the Malm drawers. I might need to get some storage boxes for inside the wardrobe and on top for things like dummies, bibs etc to keep them all together and tidy.

FASHION: BRITISH SUMMER WISHLIST

Today's post is a British summer wishlist, we've been having some rubbish weather the past few days so I thought i'd pop a few warmer pieces on my wishlist and share them with you. As you may or may not know i'm pregnant so some of these bits are maternity wear however some bits are not and just normal sizing.

I'm loving this blush pink colour right now and I love this pink skater maternity dress from Topshop. It's just a pretty colour and would be very easy to wear, you could even wear it with tights and a cardigan in the Autumn months.
I've included this Tiba and Marl changing bag/ weekend bag as I really like it and have been looking for a nice changing bag, I like that it's black and would go well with everything. It's a really good size so would easily fit all my bits and pieces for baby inside and would be a great hospital bag.
Next is this really cute top from New Look, this isn't a maternity style but it would go over my bump and this top is a steal! It's only £7.99 so if you like it go and order it because it won't be around for long.
I need some new maternity jeans so i've picked out these ones from Topshop as I don't have any blue maternity jeans and I like the ripped knee and distressed look of these and they are in the sale.
How cute are these little sandals from New Look, the look so easy to wear, maybe not weather appropriate for all the rain we've had but so cute for those warmer days.
Another blush pink item I know!! This cardigan from Asos is so cute though, I love the colour and it looks so snug and comfy perfect for those colder days, it would be easy to throw on over some jeans and a cute t-shirt.
Finally, it's coming up to my birthday and I usually ask for a new watch, I haven't been wearing my watches much recently but this Olivia Burton one is so cute, I love the little bee's and the grey strap is very versatile and easy to wear.

So that's my wishlist for this month, I will be putting together another wishlist next month for my birthday month! Let me know what you think of these bits and send over links to your wishlists.

INTERIORS: HOW TO CREATE YOUR PERFECT BATHROOM?

image: pinterest

image:pinterest

We've been making some changes to the apartment and we will be painting and giving the whole place a fresh new look. I've started already with the living room by adding some new accessories and changing the colour theme. We are going to do the bedrooms next and then the bathrooms ( we have an en-suite aswell as our main bathroom)

Our bathroom suites are white and we are going to freshen up the paintwork, keeping it all white and fresh. I want to add some new accessories to give the bathrooms a complete makeover.

I love this huge round mirror, it's from Habitat and is gorgeous, it's on trend and will make a big difference.

I'm loving these copper bathroom accessories and think they will add a really nice addition and refresh the whole room.

I really like this Blush Pink colour right now so might pick up a few towels and accessories in this colour, we have blue towels at the moment so this will make quite a big difference.

This long mirror radiator from DesignerRadiatorShowroom.co.uk comes in a Rose Gold colour which would be so cool and would match with my colour theme perfectly. You can actually head over to the DesignerRadiatorShowroom.co.uk website to enter a competition to win £250 to spend on making your dream bathroom into a reality.

Check out my Pinterest board here with lots more bathroom inspiration and ideas to create my perfect bathroom.

BEAUTY: HOW I DO MY HAIR!!

Everyone's hair is different and I find it hard to copy tutorials and experiment with my hair. My hair is good, it styles easily and I can curl it or straighten it quite easily. It gets greasy quickly and I have started getting issues with my scalp but apart from that my hair is healthy and considering I haven't had it cut for a while it's not that bad.

I thought i'd share a few products i'm using right now and i've switched up my hair porducts/ tools alot recently.

Shampoo and Conditioner :

I've been using the Loreal Elvive Extraordinary clay range for a little while now, you can see my full review here.  I started having problems with my scalp back in april/may time. I quickly found out that it was product build-up that was irritating my scalp so I stopped using dry-shampoo so much and switched to this shampoo and conditioner combo which worked well for my hair and scalp. I haven't been using it alot recently but my scalps been playing up again so i've introduced it back into my routine. I use it a couple of times a week alongside my other shampoo and conditioner.

I've recently been using the Bedhead TIGI Fully Loaded range* which is a range designed to add volume to your hair. My hair can be abit limp so i've been using this whole range and I love it! The shampoo and conditioner clean my hair really well and leave it feeling so clean and soft. It also smells incredible.

Styling Products:

Also from the Bedhead Fully Loaded range i've been using the Volume Boosting foam. I can't remember the last time I used a foam but this is lovely and really adds volume to my hair and makes it perfect for styling. I love using this when i'm going to curl my hair.

I have been a huge fan of Lee Stafford's Coco Loco range for a while now. I love the CoConut SPritz*this is such a lovely product. I use it if i'm leaving my hair to dry naturally and sometimes if i'm blow drying it. It leaves your hair smelling amazing and just leaves it more manageable. It detangles and smooths hair.

Also from the Coco Loco range is Blow and Go. *This is a cream product that you apply to damp hair before blow drying. I like using this because it contains heat protection as well as detangles the hair, smooths and de-frizz. It conditions and strengthens the hair too. It's an amazing product, i'm nearly all out and need to repurchase.

To set the hair, whether i've curled it or straightened it i've been reaching for the Bedhead TIGI Fully loaded finishing spray*. It's a really nice firm hold but it's not sticky and doesn't leave your hair all crunchy. I feel that my curls are more voluminous and hold well using this spray. I think it works well to add texture to straight hair too, I really like this product.

Hair Tools:

I love my GHD's I have had them for years and they are amazing, I could never use any other straighteners.

I have a couple of pair of curlers for different types of curl. Recently i've been reaching for my Lee Stafford Coco Loco Long Tong *for that everyday wave/ curl. The long tong has a longer tong(like the name) so it's perfect for all hair lengths. I find this easier to use that most hair curlers.

Recently i've been using the Arconic blow dry brush* which i'm loving!!  This is a curved paddle brush which is designed for medium to long hair. I find it so easy to use. It's a nice weight, not too heavy and very comfortable to hold. I really like blow drying my hair using this brush. It makes the hair really straight but not flat, it adds volume which is amazing and because the paddle is so big you can dry your hair so quickly by using this brush, which I love because drying your own hair is so boring.

BEAUTY: MY FESTIVAL ESSENTIALS

Today's post is all about those must have beauty essentials perfect for all of those upcoming festivals. With the sun out and our shorts on it's only a matter of time before festival season is here so why not start getting your beauty essentials sorted. For any festival is super important to have a decent spf, even if you just here in the UK as your going to be outside all day and you need to make sure your getting enough protection from the sun. Your going to need some comfy shoes and your sunnies and maybe a hat too!

I thought i'd share a few products that I love and think would be perfect some a summer festival.
First up hair products! You need some dry shampoo first of all, I only really use the Batiste one which works really well for me and keeps those greasy roots at bay for a few days. Once you've dry shampoo'd your hair spritz some of this Lee Stafford Coco Loco Coconut Spritz into your hair and scrunch it up for that tousled wave look. The spray leaves your hair smelling fresh and clean and stops your hair from looking dry and straw like. Another must have is a travel Tangle Teezer, your hair is going to start getting a little hard to manage after not washing it for a couple of days. A handy Compact size Tangle Teezer is such a great thing to bring along to any festival to tame those locks.

Some all rounders like Dr Paw Paw's original balm is a good staple to pack, you can use this for a number of different uses. You can use it as a lip balm, skin protector, for nails and cuticles, on dry skin such as on your heels, elbows or hands. It also has calming and healing properties perfect for sun burn, prickly heat or skin irritations.

Kiehls Midnight recovery oil is another good product. It replenishes the skin with moisture which will work wonders overnight whilst you sleep to repair the damage caused from the sun.
It has soothing qualities and boosts radiance.

I thought i'd include a few Carex goodies because sometimes festivals can be abit dirty and grim so I would bring along my own hand sanitiser, I love the smell of this Strawberry laces hand gel!  Incase the loo is out of soap or you just want to freshen your hands. I would also bring plenty of tissues and these wipes are handy for hands, face and body for a freshen up.

You do so much walking and standing up at festivals so some Compeed would be handy to bring along too.

Another handy thing to think about is sanitary products, such as pads and tampons. Your period can strike at any time so be prepared and chuck a few pads or tampons in your bag. Lil-lets have a huge range so there's something to suit every cycle.

How cute is this handy travel size Garnier Micellar water, I've picked this up for Turkey but it would be a fab little size to bring along to a festival. When you've finished it you can just throw the mini bottle away or reuse it for something else. I think these little mini's are such a great idea. I got this in Savers for a pound!!

I'm not off to any festivals yet that I know of, are you? Where are you going and whats your top beauty must have for a festival ?

GIFT GUIDE: VALENTINES GIFT IDEAS

Valentines is less than two weeks away now! If you don't celebrate Valentines, whether you don't believe in the holiday or you don't have a partner and would rather ignore the fact Valentines is fast approaching you can do two things, ignore this post or have a little read you might spot some goodies that you can totally buy for youself.

I think shopping for a Valentines present can be a little tricky as it just creeps up and we're all just getting over Christmas. Me and Clint usually set a budget and give each other hints of what we might want.

I always think lingerie is a good gift for Valentines, providing you know your partners bra size. It's always good to pick out something you like rather than going for what they always tend to go for because that way it shows you've put thought into it and they might end up loving something new and different. This set from Freya is gorgeous, it's called Hero! It's a lovely pink shade which is just gorgeous for Valentines. Hero is a plunge style bra with side support, I think the coverage in the cups is really good so this would be a good everyday bra. It's chilly out there and i'm still tucked up in jumpers so who cares if my bra is pink! It's so comfy, I love Freya bras, they are so lovely. I have the brief but this style also comes with a thong and a short, I think I will be picking the thong up so i've got a couple of matching pairs. Check out the Freya website as they have lots more styles to choose from I really like the Icon style and the matching thong, I've already dropped a little hint to Clint.

If your after something a little more affordable there are some lovely lip products out there at the moment, these Burts Bee's Lip Crayons are gorgeous! They come in a selection of shades and are so creamy but have a matte finish. They are only £8.99 each and you can get them from loads of different places like boots, department stores and Marks and Spencer.

These Balmi Lip Balms are really handy too, they are only £4.99 and again you can get them from loads of different stores like boots and Superdrug.

This I Love Pink Marshmallow Bath and Shower Creme is sooo good, it smells amazing! It's a really lovely gift idea, you could pick up a selection of the I Love .. products and some of the lip products from above and make a little pamper gift set.

If you like the idea of putting together a little pamper set then you need to head to Lush because no pamper set is complete without some bath bombs and bubble bars. The Valentines collection from Lush is amazing!! I'm loving the Unicorn Horn Bubble bar and the Lover Lamp bath bomb, Lush also have a selection of Valentines Gift sets which are another fab Gift Idea!

VALENTINES: DENMAN D3 KISS 7 ROW BRUSH

ORDER THIS BRUSH NOW FOR ONLY £5

I've been using this brush from Denman this last week or so. I have a few different styles of brushes but nothing like this one. The bristles are firm and hard which helps detangle hair and get through any knots. The anti-static rubber pad controls the hair when blow-drying.
I love the colour, the pink is really nice and the lips make it cute. I think this would be a really good gift idea for Valentines Day.
The brush is a really nice size and really easy to hold. I have really bad hair, its knotty and becomes all curly and a big mess through the night but this brush gets through my knots and detangles very easily. I'd try not to whack yourself to hard with it! As I mentioned the bristles are hard so that hurts a little as my sister found out haha.
You can get this gorgeous brush right now for just £5 and i'd say its so worth the money. It's such a sturdy brush, it's going to last a very long time.
