LIFESTYLE: WAYS TO SAVE MONEY BEFORE CHRISTMAS
9 October 2019
With Christmas approaching fast everyone starts to go into panic mode about how expensive this time of year can be. I thought i'd put together a post with a few money saving tips so you can save a bit of money before the festive season. I have Amelia's birthday in November too so always need to save abit of money around this time of year. I'd like to take her on some festive days out too!
Organisation- I think one of the most important things when it comes to saving money is to be organised! Start by writing a list, it can be as detailed as you like, you should write a list of your income and all of your outgoings. This makes it easier to see how much money you have left over each month after your bills. With this money you can then start to budget it. This can actually show much how much money your spending on rubbish like take-away coffee's and those odd random £2 and £3 here and there.
Loyalty Cards- Using loyalty cards like Tesco Clubcard and boots card can be a great way to save money. I usually shop at Tesco so can end up with quite alot of points. The great thing about Tesco clubcard is you can spend your points on shopping or you can boost your points and spend them on days out or eating out. Tesco also send out loads of really good vouchers so check them out to save even more! I save my boots points and use them to buy Christmas presents, Boots always have 3 for 2 on their Christmas gifts so it's such a good place to buy gifts.
Shop around!- Now days its super easy to save money. All you have to do is shop around, get online and compare prices. It's so easy to get great broadband and TV deals ,You can pop in your postcode and it's super easy to see all of the different providers in your area. They also have a great filter section so you can find the best deal that suits you! You can get a bundle which includes, Phone, TV, and Broadband and can actually save money by having a single package rather than separate providers. You also only have the one bill to worry about too which is great! I've actually had a look as we already have broadband with Sky and to add on a TV package it's only actually an extra £10 a month for 301 channels including Sky Atlantic, this also includes a Sky Q so we would get catch-up which is amazing! So if your looking for a to save money on your broadband or TV package it might be worth having a look at a package. For all other services like gas and electric suppliers, insurance etc you can use comparison websites to compare and find the best price.
Meal planning can also be a great way to save money! By planning what you will be eating you can just buy the ingredients for your meals, check the cupboards and see what you already have in to stop you buying things you don't need. By knowing what you are having for dinner you are less likely to order a take away or pop into your local supermarket and spend too much money on a quick easy dinner.
Those are just a few ways that you can easily save money in the run up to Christmas, I know that I need to start meal planning again as this always saves up money and I should really write a budget for Christmas so I know what i'm getting everyone and how much i'm going to spend so I don't overspend. How do you plan on saving money for the festive season?

LIFESTYLE: 5 MONEY SAVING TIPS!
22 May 2017
With a baby on the way we have had to pull back on our spending and start planning for the future so this means saving! We have a lot of stuff to buy for this baby so will need to save up over the next few months. I thought i'd share a few of my top saving money tips!
1. Budget! By writing lists and sticking to a budget you can save a lot of money! I find planning our meals and writing a shopping list a really effective way to stick to budget! If you go shopping without a list you can end up spending a lot more money than you intended to! I know it's only £1 here and there but they add up! We have now started to use the self scanner at Tesco as you scan as you shop, you can see your total so you know exactly how much you are spending, making it easier to stick to your budget.
2. Use your discount cards / loyalty cards! I work in a shopping center so I have a discount card that gets me extra money of my shopping, coffees etc. I always use my loyalty cards, especially in places like Boots and Tesco. They send you vouchers for money off and personalised discounts so you can easily save money this way.
3. If you need money fast and don't have anyone you could borrow from you may need to get a payday loan. Cash Lady provide a payday loan service so you can borrow money fast. No need to worry if you struggle to get Payday Loans Bad Credit.
4. Cancel those direct debits! Do you really need to pay £50 a month for the latest phone, are you spending £40 a month on a gym membership you don't use. Write down your outgoings and decide if thats a wise way to spend your money. When I found out I was pregnant I cancelled my gym membership and went onto a sim only deal and saved £70 a month.
5. Use money saving apps!! Apps like vouchercloud and sites like Quidcooffer discounts and cashback when you make purchases. If we are going out for food we look on vouchercloud to see what places have offers on so we can save money on eating out! If your going bowling or on a day out its worth checking out their offers. I'm also signed up to get emails from The moneysavingexpert, these emails are great. They tell you all the different deals and ways you can save money. If you shop via Quidco when shopping online or link up your debit card you can earn cashback on your everyday purchases.
I hope these tips help and you can save some money! I have always been a savvy shopper and I shop around to get a good deal! We have already signed up to get discounts at all the baby shops like Mothercare and Mamas and Papas.

LIFESTYLE: HOW TO SAVE WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR OWN PLACE
18 October 2016
Can you believe it's nearly been a year since Clint and myself got our own place. I thought i'd put together a few tips and tricks to saving some money when you live by yourself.
Organisation -
Organisation -
This may seem like common sense but just planning what you are going to spend your money on will save you money in the long term. There's lot of bills and dates to remember when you have your own place so writing a list of your bills and when they come out of your account can make things easier. We have a joint account and our bills come out of this account which I find works best, we both transfer money in when we get paid to cover the bills.
Saving -
Get loyalty cards etc, our Tesco clubcard saves us so much money, we tend to do most of our shopping at tesco and Clint occasionally gets fuel from there so our points add up and we get vouchers in the post, a few weeks ago we got £8 off our shopping and last week they sent out vouchers that give you £3/£4 off for the next 6 weeks if you spend over £30 so we can make great savings on our general food shop.
I also have a boots card which I have over £25 worth of points to spend, I sometimes use this when money is a little tight and I need essentials or need to get my eyebrows done etc. Also use apps like Vouchercloud and Vouchercodes to find the vouchers, if your shopping or going out for food etc theres tons of vouchers which can save you money! Check out moneysupermarket too for great tips for saving money using vouchers.
Gratisfaction UK is also a really good website to use. They have a huge selection of freebies which you can easily sign up for. You can get loads from samples of beauty and skincare products or free tickets to events, they update the site all the time so there's always new things to put your name down for. They also have a voucher codes section so you can check these out and save money when your shopping. There's no need to sign up and anyone can check them out to get loads of free stuff!
Meal planning is a really good way to save money. If your always throwing food out then your basically throwing money away. Sit down for a few hours and plan your week. Now i'm doing slimming world I find I do this anyway but it's great to get an idea of what you need to buy when your shopping , write a list so you don't pick up things you don't need just because they are on offer for a pound! This way you reduce the amount of food you throw away and have more time to chill because you can prep and already know what your eating so no need to spend ages deciding what to have. Do you have any tips for saving money? What else works when your trying to save those pennies?
