LIFESTYLE: WAYS TO SAVE MONEY BEFORE CHRISTMAS
9 October 2019
With Christmas approaching fast everyone starts to go into panic mode about how expensive this time of year can be. I thought i'd put together a post with a few money saving tips so you can save a bit of money before the festive season. I have Amelia's birthday in November too so always need to save abit of money around this time of year. I'd like to take her on some festive days out too!
Organisation- I think one of the most important things when it comes to saving money is to be organised! Start by writing a list, it can be as detailed as you like, you should write a list of your income and all of your outgoings. This makes it easier to see how much money you have left over each month after your bills. With this money you can then start to budget it. This can actually show much how much money your spending on rubbish like take-away coffee's and those odd random £2 and £3 here and there.
Loyalty Cards- Using loyalty cards like Tesco Clubcard and boots card can be a great way to save money. I usually shop at Tesco so can end up with quite alot of points. The great thing about Tesco clubcard is you can spend your points on shopping or you can boost your points and spend them on days out or eating out. Tesco also send out loads of really good vouchers so check them out to save even more! I save my boots points and use them to buy Christmas presents, Boots always have 3 for 2 on their Christmas gifts so it's such a good place to buy gifts.
Shop around!- Now days its super easy to save money. All you have to do is shop around, get online and compare prices. It's so easy to get great broadband and TV deals ,You can pop in your postcode and it's super easy to see all of the different providers in your area. They also have a great filter section so you can find the best deal that suits you! You can get a bundle which includes, Phone, TV, and Broadband and can actually save money by having a single package rather than separate providers. You also only have the one bill to worry about too which is great! I've actually had a look as we already have broadband with Sky and to add on a TV package it's only actually an extra £10 a month for 301 channels including Sky Atlantic, this also includes a Sky Q so we would get catch-up which is amazing! So if your looking for a to save money on your broadband or TV package it might be worth having a look at a package. For all other services like gas and electric suppliers, insurance etc you can use comparison websites to compare and find the best price.
Meal planning can also be a great way to save money! By planning what you will be eating you can just buy the ingredients for your meals, check the cupboards and see what you already have in to stop you buying things you don't need. By knowing what you are having for dinner you are less likely to order a take away or pop into your local supermarket and spend too much money on a quick easy dinner.
Those are just a few ways that you can easily save money in the run up to Christmas, I know that I need to start meal planning again as this always saves up money and I should really write a budget for Christmas so I know what i'm getting everyone and how much i'm going to spend so I don't overspend. How do you plan on saving money for the festive season?

LIFESTYLE: HOW TO GET READY FOR CHRISTMAS
27 November 2018
It's basically December so it's okay to talk about Christmas! I'm a super festive person and love the Christmas season, basically as soon as Halloween is over I go into full on Christmas mode!
I thought i'd share a few tips on how to get ready for Christmas and how to get into the festive spirit.
Putting the Christmas tree up is a really lovely way to get into the Christmas Spirit, we put a Christmas film on, have hot chocolates and put the tree up. We usually do it either the last weekend of Nov or first week of December. This photo is of my tree from last year, were putting ours up this weekend. Check out my blog post from last year all about my favourite baubles on my tree.
Listening to Christmas songs is a good way to get into the Christmas Spirit, why not download some Christmassy playlists on Spotify?
I like going into Town and visiting the Christmas markets, check out the Christmas lights, maybe do a spot of Christmas shopping. I love buying gifts for my friends and family and this really gets me in the mood for the festive season. Christmas can be a really expensive time of year and we don't always have spare money for buying presents but you could always get a loan from CashLady and then pay it back in monthly installments.
Wrapping the presents is my favourite thing to do throughout December, I love sitting with a pile of presents, my paper, tags and bows! I go a little over the top but I just love it! I usually pop a Christmas film on or listen to some Christmassy songs.
This year is our second Christmas with Amelia, but it feels like our first proper one. She was only a few weeks old last year so she wasn't aware of anything but this year I feel like shes a little more aware. I was looking at the decorations in Tesco the other day and she got so excited! I'm super excited to pop our tree up. We have been looking at different Grotto's and Santa experiences. We took her to a little Grotto last year and she got to meet Santa which was lovely, it's such a nice experience to take the little ones to see Father Christmas, it's something I loved doing during my childhood.
Going food shopping! This makes me soo excited for Christmas, Pigs in Blankets, Turkey and Stuffing!!! We don't even go food shopping because we have Christmas dinner at my moms but I get so excited when the shops start doing their Christmas foods, and the Christmas aisles! I love it!
What gets you in the Christmas mood? Do you enjoy Christmas and getting festive? How do you spend your Christmas?

CHRISTMAS: GETTING INTO THE FESTIVE SPIRIT
7 December 2017
I haven't really got into the festive spirit just yet, December has crept up on me. I haven't bought any presents yet, I know i've just had a baby and I need to stop being so hard on myself. I thought i'd write a little blog post with some ways to get into the festive spirit.
Decorating the tree is one of my favourite ways to get into the festive spirit, we put our tree up around the 1st December. We make hot chocolates with cream and marshmellows and put a christmas film on.
Go to some festive events in your local area, why not take the kids to visit Santa. We are taking Amelia to see Santa over the weekend. I think it will be lovely to get a photo of her with him whilst shes still a tiny newborn. Why not visit a Christmas Market, In Birmingham we have the German Market and there's an ice rink. I think we are going to the Market next week, i'm really looking forward to it.
With snow forecast over the weekend you might want to stay in and spend some time at home. You can watch films with popcorn and hot chocolates with the family. Get those Christmas cards written and wrap presents. You can win yourself some money to have the most amazing Christmas by browsing some new bingo games online, and don't forget to order those last minute gifts online.
Get your Christmas bedding out and add some fairy lights in your bedroom to make it cosy and Christmassy.
I'm really excited for our First Christmas as a family of three, we have lots going on over the next couple of weeks and I need to try and fit in Christmas Shopping at some point. How are you getting into the festive spirit. Have you visited a Christmas market or will you be visiting Santa in his grotto?

CHRISTMAS: HOW TO GET IN THE FESTIVE SPIRIT
25 November 2016
1. Buy some new Christmas decorations! I think shopping for new baubles and Christmas decorations can make you feel really festive. I love going down the Christmas aisles in the supermarket gets me in the Christmas mood.
2. Wrap some presents! If your like me and haven't actually bought any presents yet you might struggle. I wrapped up some of Clints presents for his family. I love wrapping presents!
3. Write your Christmas Cards! You can easily spend an evening on the sofa in front of a Christmas film with a hot chocolate and write your Christmas cards. I saved our Christmas cards from last year so I know who to write cards for.
4. Get your Christmas bedding out! Putting your Christmas bedding on can make you feel Christmassy. Pop some fairy lights around your bed for even more festivity.
5. Decorate a gingerbread house. I really enjoyed decorating a gingerbread house last year. There's so many Christmas recipes and baking ideas to do over the festive season. The gingerbread houses are a great idea if you have small kids to entertain as it doesn't require any baking.
6. Put your tree and decorations up! I know it's still November but the easiest way to get into the spirit of Christmas is by putting your tree up. I love decorating the tree with a cheesy film on in the background.

CHRISTMAS DAY WITH GEORGE AT ASDA
30 November 2015
Everyone spends Christmas Day differently some people like to stay in their pj's all day and others like to get dressed up and head out and let someone else do the cooking. I have to say I usually love to stay at home with the family in my pj's all day and watch lots of films and eat my bodyweight in chocolate. This year is going to be a little bit different, i've recently moved out of my family home and into my own flat with Clint. We're not 100% sure what we are doing on Christmas day but I think we might just stay at our house, have a chilled out day together watching films, we have been invited to Clints parents for dinner aswell so we might pop round which means i'll have to get dressed up. I think this dress from George is a perfect Christmas day dress*, it's a lovely plain black dress with an embellished collar. It's a simple dress, I really love the shift style and it's so comfy. I think with a pair of thick tights and some comfy socks i'll be so cosy for a perfect Christmas day. I love this faux fur cardigan* aswell, it's such a simple but elegant piece which is perfect for the festive season. I think you could easily wear it on a night out, im going to wear it for my Christmas Party with work next weekend but I also think it's a lovely cosy cardigan to keep you toasty at home with the family.
What do you like to do on Christmas Day? Do you buy a Christmas day outfit?
