UPDATE: WHAT'S GOING ON RIGHT NOW?

So I like my readers to know what's going on with me and my real life as this does tend to interfere with my blogging patterns. I tend to blog when and where I can, right now i'm working loads so i've been bringing my laptop into work and getting some extra blogging done there.

I have been working two jobs for a few weeks as Clint and I have just booked another holiday, I know we only just got back from Tenerife but I really felt like a week away. I had booked a week off for my birthday so we took this as a perfect opportunity.

I have a job in retail which is fab and I also work in a restaurant which isn't that great but it's flexible and I get payed fortnightly so it's handy that way.

I've also been doing some voluntary work getting classroom experience. I want to be an art teacher so i've helping out at some art classes for kids over the summer. It's been a fab experience but obviously its also taking up some of my spare time. I've been trying to keep up with the blog by writing product reviews as I think these are really relevant to my blog. I want to do more outfit posts but need time to take photos etc so hopefully I will get some up after my holiday.

I want to do some more lifestyle type posts like food reviews etc so hopefully the next couple of weeks won't be so hectic!

REVIEW: THE BODY SHOP WILD ARGAN OIL BODY LOTION

THE BODY SHOP WILD ARGAN OIL BODY LOTION -£8* - THE BODY SHOP

I have been testing a few products from The Body Shop recently. I was kindly sent a few products from their wild Argan oil range. I am a big Argan oil fan, I use it in my hair the most. Today i'm talking about this body lotion. I don't normally like reviewing creams and lotions however this is an exception.

I'm not a massive fan of body butters I would rather use a lotion so I was very excited to give this ago! It's a lovely light product that absorbs into the skin very easily! It's very moisturising and doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy. It smells amazing!! I love the smell so much that I keep applying this to my arms even when I don't need to just because it smells so nice!

It's £8.00 for a generous 250ml bottle which is fab! I just think this is a lovely lotion, it has a pump for ease.

The argan oil in this lotion leaves the skin feeling smoother and softer! It's just such a lovely product, I would definitely buy it again!

I am also testing some other The Body Shop's wild argan oil products such as the radiant oil and the miracle solid oil for body and hair.

REVIEW: DERMALEX REPAIR FOR ROSACEA

Dermalex skin treatment for Rosacea - £18.99*

Rosacea is a skin condition that commonly effects the face. Its common in middle aged men and women but women are more likely to be affected. Rosacea is a condition where the blood vessels in the face become more visible. Symptoms begin with flushing or red spots that can turn into persistent redness, you can see more common symptoms listed here on the Rosacea Uncovered site.

I don't have visible blood vessels on my face however some of my family members suffer from Rosacea and I would like to prevent this from happening to me. There are many different factors that can cause Rosacea and worsen symptons like eating spicy food, drinking alcohol and stress.

I have been using Dermalex skin treatment for Rosacea for a couple of weeks and i've noticed my skins looking clearer, I do suffer from redness and blemishes to my skin. I also have alot of breakouts. Dermalex for Rosacea restores the skins barrier and protects and smoothes skin.

It's a great product, it leaves your skin feeling fresh and cool which is great when your skin is feeling red or sometimes symptons can include burning. Theres no perfume in the formula and it's clinically tested so its great for most skintypes. It dries and absorbs quickly and isn't greasy on the skin so it's great for my oily/ combination skin.

You can buy Dermalex skin treatment for Rosacea from Boots.com or Lloyds pharmacy

REVIEW: YSL FUSION INK FOUNDATION

 YSL FUSION INK FOUNDATION- £30.50*

So i've been given the fabulous opportunity to review this lovely foundation. I have tried a few samples of YSL foundations before and I have tried a few of their products before. I have to say it's a very luxurious brand that does appeal to me however sometimes the prices tend to put me off. However this is a product I will be buying again!

The packaging is gorgeous, a lovely glass bottle with an iconic gold lid. The box is gold aswell making it very desirable in the shops! The bottle has a little applicator that I use to pop a small amount of product onto my hand to work with. I then use a buffing brush to apply. I find a little goes a long way so don't put loads onto your hand. The texture is so smooth and soft, it gives flawless coverage and feels so light. It's so easy to apply and manageable.

The finish is a matte effect which I love, I feel really fresh and flawless once i've applied my foundation. I don't even need to wear a powder over the top because the finish is so nice. It lasts all day long and has great staying power! I worked a 12 hour day and it still looked perfect by the end of the day!

I have to say i'm so impressed with this product and I will buy it again, I'm off to Turkey next month so i'm hoping to stock up in Duty Free! I have been wearing this product for about a month now and i'm still in love with it!

You can buy it now exclusively in store and online at Debenhams and it's out everywhere from the 20th August!!

*I have been sent this product to review for a magazine and I am not obliged to review this product on my blog, all views and opinions above are my own!

REVIEW: BIRKENSTOCKS C/O CLOGGS

 BIRKENSTOCKS - £39.99* - C/O CLOGGS

Hello people! I haven't blogged for a few days as things have been pretty manic! I'm currently working two jobs aswell as doing a bit of voluntary work helping at some art classes to get some classroom experience. So pretty please bear with me, I'm going to hopefully do some blogging tomorrow night. I tried to get some done tonight however once I had checked and replied to emails the night has got away from me again.

Anyway today I wanted to share a lovely pair of sandals I was recently sent by Cloggs.co.uk
When I first saw Birkenstocks I will admit I was one of those people that swore I wouldn't get on the Ugly sandal bandwagon but here I am with a pair of Birkenstocks. First of all they are not that Ugly in real life and once i'd saw a pair in the shops I became more of a fan. The style is quite simple which makes them a good value for money because the classic style won't go out of fashion.

I got a trusty black pair however they come in lots of different colours. I have a matte pair but they also come in patent.  They are really comfy shoes, I wear mine to work alot! I'm on my feet for 8-9 hours a day and they don't hurt me at all. About 5 people at my work own a pair (kat has about 10 pairs haha) They are just fab for everyday. I like to wear mine with midi-skirts and cute dresses because they give an outfit a boho style. Honestly at first I didn't think they were that comfy but once i'd worn them in now they are amazing, they are now shaped to my feet.

They are easy to keep clean, you can just give them a little wipe over with a baby wipe. They are a great quality, very sturdy and firm. They are well worth the money, you know they are going to last you a long time.  I have my eyes on a white pair which I think will be perfect for my upcoming holiday to Turkey, I will be doing loads of walking so a comfy pair of sandals is a must have!

Do you have a pair of Birkenstocks?

DIY POST: HOW TO MAKE A PILLOW CASE

 MINI SEWING MACHINE - HOBBYCRAFT - £25.00*

So I know a pillowcase isn't the most difficult thing to make but I needed an excuse to use my new mini sewing machine that I was kindly sent by Hobbycraft. I'm gonna give you guys a few little tips about how to make a pillow case :)

First of all you will need some material, a pillow and your sewing machine, I would recommend getting some pins aswell. I didn't use any but I think it would be easier and neater.

Make sure your material is going to fit around your pillow in case it's too small. I used an old skirt that I haven't wore for ages. Then turning your material inside out and pinning the edges will give you an idea of where you need to sew.

If you don't have a clue how to thread your machine then i'd recommend watching a video on youtube because it made it seem abit easier.

I sewed up the two edges leaving a small gap to fit my pillow inside, before you pop your pillow in your case make sure you have turned the material back the right way. Then sew up the small hole. You need to be careful here to not make a mess as you may be able to see the thread here.

Tah Dah you should have a pillow case. If you wanted to fix a zip to your pillow case to make it easier to wash you would do the same as above however just fix your zip to the material.
I used an old skirt but you can use any material you like, I love that my skirt had a pocket so now my pillow case has a handy pocket.
