REVIEW: CUT AND BLOW DRY AT FRANCESCO GROUP

I was kindly invited to have a cut and blow dry last week at the Francesco group salon in Birmingham. I was really excited to get my hair done, it actually ended up being a pamper day, I got my hair, eyebrows and my make up done.

I hadn't had my hair cut for a few months, probably about 4 months ago. I had it cut into a long bob as I wanted it to look fresh and healthy, I decided to have the same done this time because it felt like it was due a good chop.

We started by discussing what I wanted and got started. The lovely Grace was really cool and I felt very comfortable with her. She decided to go for a hydrating shampoo and conditioner as I use alot of heat on my hair and because of the cold weather. She also used a lotion on my scalp as i've had some dry skin from the cold. I love having my hair washed at the salon it always feels so clean.

Next she started cutting, she made it slightly shorter at the back so the length fell really nice at the front. She was really quick when cutting my hair but it looks so good! She used Luxe Oil on my hair and I had my hair blow dried straight. I like to have abit of texture in the ends so she used a texturising spray and some hairspray.

and tah dah...

i'm so happy with the outcome, my hair looks so much more healthier and thick again. It actually looks a different colour aswell which was weird, I think its because my hair is so clean. I was so happy with the service and i'd recommend the salon to my friends and family. I know i'll return again.

If you want to find out more about the Salon, opening times and prices visit the Francesco Group website here.

* I was kindly offered a complimentary hair cut and blow dry at Francesco Group Salon, I have been honest in my review. I have not been offered any additional compensation for this post.

LIFESTYLE: WHERE SHOULD I GO ON HOLIDAY?

It's February ! Soo many people book their holidays around this time of year, we normally book our holiday about now but because we're going to Florida this year we booked back in November. It's hard to decide where to go on holiday because there's so many places to go! Normally when were looking at places to go I want to go somewhere hot, I go on holiday to relax and get a tan. This year we've gone for the opposite, Florida is going to be 2 weeks of non stop theme parks and shopping, but it's an experience. For a normal 2 weeks in the sun I don't really mind how long the flight is because I like flying, I want somewhere I can relax and get a nice tan, I go on holiday with my boyfriend and we like to have a shop and a little party so need to be in a good location!

Holiday Gems have made this really handy quiz to help you decide where to go on your holiday. There's a few simple questions to answer such as who you go on holiday with and what you like to do on holiday, once you've answered the questions it gives you a destination based on your answers and tells you why they have picked this destination. They also give you some alternative destinations aswell so if you've already been somewhere you have other options.

I thought it would be funny to put in my dates as March, which is when i'm going to Florida, warm weather, going on holiday with family and older kids and want to go on holiday to shop and for the pool and my answer was Orlando! Crazy!! haha.

You don't have to book whatever destination comes out, it's just a bit of fun and you never know somewhere you never would have thought of might come out. I had another go and picked a summer date, hot weather to chill out with Clint and Morrocco came out! I've looked at Morrocco before and I think it would be a great holiday destination for us.

If you want to have a go of the quiz you can do so here at HolidayGems.co.uk

REVIEW: CLARINS EVERLASTING FOUNDATION+

'Clarins have reinforced the formula of it's best-selling long-hold foundation to deliver even longer hold, improved comfort and flawless coverage, for 18 hours!'

I've tried a few Clarins foundations and I think they work really well with my skin. I always get such a flawless finish which I imagine is all anyone could want from a foundation. I actually visited the Clarins counter in Birmingham the other day as they were offering complimentary make overs and I know they have alot of new products in for spring that I wanted to check out, i've tried the Lip Balm Perfector and you can read my review here  I have to admit my Clarins collection is getting really big and I love everything, I don't think theres a Clarins product i've been disappointed with. So anyway back to the foundation. I watched the Video on the Clarins website which shows you how to apply the previous Everlasting Foundation and you can use your fingers to apply it, I however find it easier personally to apply my foundation using a brush. I use this Nanshy Angled Buffing Brush. I apply a small about of foundation onto the back of my hand and then use the brush to apply, and then build up if needed. I've found I don't need to build this product up at all, it distributes very evenly which gives that flawless effect.
There's some really amazing ingredients inside such as organic quinoa seed extract which reinforces the skin barrier to maintain a hydrated appearance. It also contains Bamboo Powder which has mattifying properties. The anti-pollution, anti- free radical and 100% mineral anti-UVB-UVA benefits also care for the skin.
I love how soft and flawless my skin appears when I use this foundation, I have quite oily skin aswell but it works really well and leaves my skin looking matte, I use a setting powder as I know my skin is rather oily and this lasts all day long. I've been wearing it this week and i've been told i'm glowing. I've been wearing it to the gym and my make up looks just as flawless after the gym so I have to say i'm dead impressed with this product.

Avaliable 15th February - £27.50*for 30ml.

FASHION: HOW TO WEAR YOUR CHELSEA BOOTS

One of my favourite things about the weather being cold is Boots, I would live in boots if I could. My favourite boots right now are my Chelsea boots, they have a thick chunky heel and are black. I wear them all the time. They are so comfy and versatile.  There's so many ways you can style your chelsea boots, for example in this outfit post i've gone for a black pleated skirt, this is my absolute favourite skirt, I wear it all the time. It was from River Island years and years ago. Today i'm wearing it with a basic striped top from Topshop. I've chose to pop on this huge chunky cardigan from H&M because its absolutely freezing. As I said I wear these boots with all kinds of outfits. They look so good with skirts and dresses.  I also wear them with my skinny jeans, I love how they look with my ripped knee skinny jeans from Zara, there's a photo below. There's so many different ways to wear your Chelsea Boots! If you don't have any Chelsea boots there's so many options to choose from, I love the look of the Vagabond Chelsea boots which you can get from Mastershoe Myshu, they have so many styles to choose from. I love these suede/ fluffy looking ones, these have a nice little heel as well so if your not great with heels there's still loads of choice.

FASHION: SPRING KNITWEAR

So the days are getting longer and it's much lighter outside Spring is coming yay! I hate being cold, I can't wait for it to get warm again. I thought id put together a few ways you can bring your winter knits into the spring season. It's still really cold outside so it's not time to put away the jumpers just yet so heres how you can bring them into spring.

First of all i've gone for this gorgeous Grey cashmere polo neck jumper , i've been loving polo necks this season. They look so good and are so easy to pop on. Pastels have been huge for the last few seasons and I don't think thats going to change this Spring. This black skirt with the lace panel on the bottom is such a pretty skirt for the spring season. Along with the black boots this creates such a gorgeous monochrome outfit and then i've added the pastel pink leather jacket and the mint bag to add a pop of colour.

Next up is nauticals, always a great choice for Spring. I love navy and stripes. They are just so easy to pop on with a pair of jeans. This boyfriend jeans are perfect to pop on as a casual outfit. I've picked out a few more nautical related items like this pretty dress, which I would pop a plain jumper or even a jumper with a different pattern on it as Clashing prints is really strong.

OUTFIT POST: THE DAYS SEEM BRIGHTER NOW.

Another outfit post! I love that it's bright again, I really struggled with the dark days to get up and get some outfit photos taken, I'm just about to pop out to meet Clint from work. Were going to the gym and I might mention going to the Cinema, as I really wanna watch something.

It's been really cold today so i've put my hugee fluffy cardigan from Blue Vanilla* on! I love it with my Striped top, just a basic one from H&M and my blue ripped knee jeans from Zara. Obviously my favourite boots from Public Desire. I popped on my red tartan scarf which I got a while ago from H&M its one of my favourites!

I been playing with some new make up bits and pieces today so expect lots of beauty reviews!

OUTFIT POST: PINK COAT, CHECK SCARF!

I went into town on friday, for those of you who don't know I live in Birmingham, about 20 minutes from the City Center which is handy. I tend to go into Birmingham if I want to go to Selfridges or want something in particular. I live closer to Solihull which is a smaller town, with a highstreet and shopping centre. This is where I work so its more convenient, there's a John Lewis and all the high street shops like Topshop, Boots and New Look.

I was actually invited to get my hair cut, I'll be blogging about this soon but I took these photos after having my hair cut. It needed cutting again but I decided to get a good bit chopped off. I like having my hair short. It actually turned into a pamper day, I got my eyebrows done and also had a little make over on the Clarins counter in Selfridges.

I know this is another shitty outfit post because its mostly my coat and scarf. It's been freezing and i'm sorry I love outside outfit posts but I just can't take my coat off just yet. I wore one of my favourite dresses from Topshop which is a grey flippy dress with a lace insert on the shoulder. I wore this with my really long Khaki Cardigan from New Look. Along with my Public Desire boots, New Look bag, Simply Be coat and my chunky scarf from the Clothes Show.
