REVIEW: balance Me cleanse and smooth face balm

I've been loving balms recently so was very excited to try out this balance Me cleanse and smooth face balm. I really like the balance Me range because its 100% natural and is made in the UK so you know exactly what your putting on your skin and you know it's not going to hurt your skin because it's natural and free from nasty stuff like parabens and artificial colours and fragrances.

You can use the balm daily because it's very gentle and a must have in your daily routine. I usually use it on the evening because you can take your make up off with it and it leaves your face feeling so clean and soft all ready for bed !

Directions :
- warm a small amount in clean hands
- smooth over face and neck in circular movements
-leave for 30 seconds and then apply warm water and massage in again
- close eyes and wipe the product carefully over lids and eye lashes (don't get any in your actual eye)
- wet the muslin cloth and remove the balm from your skin
- pat dry

I then splash my face with cold water to close the pores and apply the balance Me Balancing Face Moisturiser.

I've been using this for a few days and have noticed my skin is looking a bit clearer and brighter. It works really well at night and it's great at taking of any stubborn mascara (they're real!! )
The balm is very nice and light and not very oily, it comes off very easily with the muslin cloth taking all the dead skin and dirt with it. It smells amazing and it's a very handy tube that makes using it whilst your in the shower or bath very easy. It comes with a muslin cloth!

At £20 it's not cheap but compared to Emma Hardie Cleansing balm which is a very similar product this is a bargain at about half the price ! and i think the tube design will make the product last so much longer than scraping it out of a tub.

Overall i'm very impressed with this product - I love that balance Me are moving away from just moisturisers and now have a range of Oils, Balms and Serums which are all available on their website here :)

Nail Polish in Sarsenet Petrol - £5

I went to London on wednesday to visit the Kurt Schwitters exhibition and decided whilst I was in London I wanted to visit the & other stories... shop on Regent street! The sell clothing and accessories but all I was really interested in looking at was their beauty section.

I picked up this nail polish, blusher and exfoliating gel because they are things I can use from day to day. I will defiantly use them and then if I decide I like the & other stories range I can order from their website.

I will be reviewing these products when I have used them all properly !

Lancome Event New Hypnose Palette

Some of the different shades of Hypnose Palettes
Lydia used me as her model and then Gemma, Clare, Sophie and Helen had to experiment on each other. This was great because we got to learn how to use the different products.

This is the Palette Lydia used on me. It's abit darker than the shades I would usually go for but the colours are beautiful and I love how they shimmer!
mmm- These were so good !

The V Shape concealer trick ;) to reduce creasing.

Gemma , Clare, Lydia, Helen, Sophie
Lydia has done my eye shadow and is now applying Cils Booster which is a super-enhancing mascara base that you can apply under mascara to make your lashes longer. She then used Hypnose star mascara which is amazing!

Color Fever lip gloss - this was minty flavour and was really nice and not tacky
Blush Subtil Palette in Rose Flush - buy here

Lydia used a whole range of products from Genifique to the new palettes and then the lipgloss and blush.

The new eyeshadow palettes are really easy to use and have a numbering system so you can't go wrong. You follow the number and apply the colour to the right area of the eyelid to create the perfect look and you use all of the colours in the palette.

The new blush / contouring palette is gorgeous. I love the shade of pink in the rose set and would love to have this in my collection. It has a highlighter and contouring shade in there as well so it's a great value for money at £27!

The evening was lovely and I just wish I could have bought something but my spending ban is coming into place over the weekend because my holiday is just around the corner! I'm excited for our next Lancome event where we will be seeing a couple of new launches.

I'd like to thank Gemma Button for inviting me and Lydia for putting on a fabulous evening :) !

My Monthly Favourites

heres a few bits and pieces i've been using for the last month or so and they have become my favourite products.

Revlon Colorstay - I haven't worn liquid foundation since I was a teen but recently i've started wearing them again and was recommended Revlon colorstay. - It gives great coverage and its really nice a light and its got amazing staying power and lasts all day long !

MUA undressed palette - This is a 12 colour eye shadow palette that i'm sure everyone and their moms has ( my mom has it - i got it her for mothers day ;) ) at a barginous £4 its amazing. The pigmentation is great and theres some really amazing shades. Its been deemed the Naked Palette 'dupe' and I use this nearly every day !

Natural Collection Blush in Pink Cloud - This is a new favourite of mine this month. Its a bargain blush at £1.99 and it's got some amazing staying power and its just a lovely cheap blush to have in your collection.

Lush Breath of fresh air toner water - I stopped using my Lush products because my allergies started getting bad and I thought that my Lush products were started to make me itchy but recently i've started using some of my old lush products and i've not been itchy so it must have been something else. I love toners and forgot how much i actually love this toner. It makes your face bright and awake and I just love it !

Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream - This is my favourite and first eye cream. I have tried other eye creams but never kept on top of them and always forgot to put them on but not with this one! It's really fab - It applies nice and dries in quickly and actually brightens up the eye area.

Mac Lipstick in Angel - This is a favourite of mine. Its a lovely day to day lipstick. It's a lovely pink/ neutral shade. I wear it everywhere uni, shopping, meals because its so nice and easy to wear.

Models Own Beths Blue - I have gone abit mad on blue recently. I've been buying and wearing so much cobalt blue but i've been wearing beths blue because it's abit more springy :) I love pastels at the moment so this is the perfect pastel blue for my collection.

This is my first monthly favourites post, please let me know if you liked it and if you think I should include anything else.

My Art Work

I thought i'd show you a little bit of my art work. This is the project i've just finished! It's a response to the womens magazines and the media and they way they use fake models and use editing and airbrushing in their magazines to sell products.

I've gone back and research feminism and feminist art - I do buy fashion and beauty magazines and i'm not against them I just think they could at least use real women or not edit the magazines so much so people like me actually stand a chance of looking like someone from a magazine.

If you want to know anymore about my art work please just ask !

Granny Sally's Soap Kitchen Manna Loaf

Manna Loaf £3.50 *

Granny Sally's Soap Kitchen is an Edinburgh Family run soap making company! They make bath bombs, scrubs, soaps and candles. Granny Sally's Soap Kitchen use natural ingredients with either fruit or vegetable bases.

The Manna Loaf is an exfoliating soap, it smells gorgeous - like cakes and almonds. Its a really lovely sweet smelling soap. I must say when I first looked at it I was wondering how it's a soap because of its texture but when you add it to water and rub it in your hands it does begin to lather and it's lovely.

I can imagine this soap will last a very long time! It doesn't go down very quick and I really think its going to last ages and £3.50 is an absolute bargain for a handmade soap.

It's a really lovely company - I love handmade products and I love that this company is a family run company and I think everyone should go and have a look ! They sell some AMAZING looking bon bon style bath bombs which I will be buying !
