EVENT: CAFE ROUGE #SUMMERTASTEADVENTURE

I was recently invited along to Cafe Rouge in Birmingham for their Summer Taste Event! The event was all about their new summer menu and I was lucky enough to head along to the event and check out some amazing food!

First of all the weather was incredible, it was really sunny and warm so as we walked along the canal to the venue was so lovely, the Mailbox was buzzing and everyone was having such a good time.

We was offered a drink on arrival and went through into the room where the event was being hosted. The french doors were open and there was flowers and balloons everywhere so the vibe was fab really welcoming and summery.

They started by introducing us to the chef who talked about the new menu and we got to have some appetizers. I didn't have any of these but Clint and everyone else seemed to enjoy these, they looked fab!

I tried a few of the new mocktails which were perfect for the summer. My favourite was the Rouge Blush Mocktail which was really good!  They were also fixing up Gin Blooms but as i'm pregnant I couldn't try these! They looked fab though, really refreshing.

For starter I ordered the Croquettes De Legumes which was so good! We've actually had this before but it's just so good and a really nice, light starter.

For mains I had the Crepe Au Four which is a new dish on the menu, It was a white creamy sauce dish covered in a crepe and baked, inside was lots of mushrooms. It was really tasty, I think it would taste better with chicken inside too, if this was an option it would be so good!

We got to sample a selection of deserts which were all amazing, I really enjoyed the Lemon Posset which was so good!

The event was really good, everyone was chatting and really friendly. There was so much food and drink everywhere and it all tasted so good! It was such a lovely event and so chilled and a lovely way to spend a gorgeous summer evening. Check out Cafe Rouge in the Mailbox in Birmingham, it's on the canal and has fab views, they have outside seating which is perfect for these warmer nights we've been having. 5 ways to wear black skinny jeans with La Redoute

I'm working alongside La Redoute to celebrate French Style and statement items that every woman should own. I have picked a good pair of black skinny jeans as my investment piece and i'm going to show you 5 different ways you can style them for different occasions. Check out their blog post here on http://fashionfamily.laredoute.co.uk/five-ways-to-wear-skinny-jeans/

MONDAY - SHOPPING IN TOWN : A stripey top is a must have in every womans wardrobe, to create a rock chic look wear with a leather biker jacket and some Red lipstick. For a day of shopping this is a great casual day to day outfit. I find stripes so easy to wear and I feel this outfit has a Parisian feel to it. I've popped my tie up flats which I think looks really nice, you could team this outfit with boots or even some pumps to make it a little more casual.

TUESDAY - LUNCH WITH THE GIRLS: Here i've teamed exactly the same black skinny jeans with a white knitted top and a statement necklace for a nice lunch with the girls. I've popped my chunky tan heels on to dress the outfit up a little. I've gone for a natural make up look but have built up my eye makeup so it's stronger than my usual day to day make up. I'm loving white right now as it' so on trend and love this outfit for a date or lunch with the girls I think its casual but pretty. I would team this with my leather jacket and a cute little bag.

WEDNESDAY - BRITISH SUMMER : With the British weather were having lately it's nice to make the most of a sunny day. We have had a few trips to the park with a picnic. I've added a summery kimono to a plain black outfit to add a spot of colour. This kimono is lightweight so it's nice to pop on but you won't get too hot whilst your out and about. These chunky heels can dress up and outfit but they are still pretty casual. I think they make this look more summery! I just took this little bag out, it's the perfect size for my phone and its really handy. My make up is pretty casual and minimal, I have added a nude lip as i'm loving nude lipsticks right now.

FRIDAY - NIGHT OUT : For a night out you can team these skinny jeans with some nice strappy sandals, i love these ones from Zara. I've teamed the jeans with a chiffon blouse with an embellished neckline, again white is really on trend right now and easy to where. A little clutch bag pulls the whole outfit together. You could add a pop of colour here with accessories but I like the monochrome trend so have gone for a black clutch bag with gold detailing. I've added some colour by going for a pink lip, I've gone for a strong smokey eye using natural shades.

SUNDAY - CHILLING OUT : It's the weekend! Time to get those jobs around the house done, blogging, cleaning and chilling out before work tomorrow. I love taking my dog for a walk and sorting out my blog posts for the week. I've gone for a black chiffon cami and a dainty necklace. Today I am wearing my Converse which makes the outfit look more casual. I've gone for
minimal, natural make up and my Ted Baker bag.

REVIEW : LA ROCHE-POSAY ROSALIAC CC CREME

La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Creme - £19.50* - Escentual

I was recently selected by Escentual to review this CC Cream by La Roche-Posay, this is the first CC cream i've used so I was very excited to try it out. I've been using it for a week now and i'm impressed. Its suitable for redness prone sensitive skin which is perfect for me as I have alot of allergies and my skin gets irritated easily. This gets rid of any redness and doesn't irritate my skin at all. I think this is quite a thick formula and you get good coverage. I've been using a buffing brush to apply it but this leaves a few brush strokes so i've been blending it in with my fingers and then applying a setting powder over the top.

This CC cream has good staying power and has been lasting all day without much movement. I did go in the pool after the gym and it pretty much all came off so it's not waterproof. I think the high SPF is another great thing about this product, I'm considering getting this for my holiday as it's got good coverage and leaves my skin looking dewy and fresh.

I noticed how the CC creme reduced redness of the skin and corrects the impurities on my skin. I've been impressed with this product and have been using it everyday since I got it.

I really want to try more from La Roche-Posay as i'm already very impressed.

Today is the last day to take advantage of Escentual's 1/3 off french skincare offer !!
