SUMMER: WHAT MAKE UP I'M TAKING ON MY HOLIDAY



EEEK LESS THAN A WEEK TO GO!! 

I'm off to Turkey in just under a week and I have to say i'm so excited to get away from the UK and the rubbish weather! I thought i'd share my holiday make up bag and what i'm taking to turkey with me. 

Since I took these photos I have picked up a few extra bits but this is the main bulk of products that will be coming with me. First up my base products, i'll be bringing my favourite concealer which is Collection, lasting perfection in the shade fair. Nars Sheer Glow* for the evening. I picked up a Rimmel BB cream yesterday for the daytime. For my contour i'm bringing my Becca highlighter in Champagne Pop and the Collection contour kit which is such a handy little product. The Bronzer is a gorgeous shade and the highlight side is a really lovely shade which I use under my eye to set my concealer to brighten the eye area. I've also popped my trusty faithful Clarins Bronzer *as this is one of my favourite bronzers for whilst i'm on holiday and you can use a really big brush and give yourself a little bit of colour all over your body. 

Lip Products! I haven't gone crazy with lip products, i'll be bringing my Clarins comfort lip oil *for in the day and then i've picked out a couple of liquid lipsticks, this Maybelline Vivid Matte Lip which is a lovely pinky nude and one of the Revlon Matte HD lip colours in a nude/ pink shade too. I'm also bringing this Sexy Mother Pucker Matte Lipstick* in this gorgeous red shade as i'm loving matte lips right now! I will also be bringing Mac Velvet Teddy and I might pick up a lipstick in Duty Free, what shall I go for? 

A few other bits that i'm taking along include my trusty faithfull eye liner, Rimmel Exaggerate liner in black and my NYX brow pencil. I will also be bringing Glow by Topshop which is a really good multi-use product which I use as a highlight on my brow bone and cupids bow but it's a handy eye-shadow too. Another trusty faithfull is the Urban Decay Potion Primer in Sin, this is a gorgeous eye primer and you can wear it alone or apply your eyeshadow over the top for a gorgeous colour and really good staying power. I'm going to be using my Stila palette whilst i'm away as it has a really good mixtures of mattes and shimmers and has a really good selection of shades. 

A few new things i'm going to try whilst i'm in Turkey include the Maybelline Colossal mascara and the new Soap and Glory Archery Volu-Boost* to give my brows more definition. I'm also going to try the new Soap and Glory WonderBronze* which is a bronzer in a stick, i've had a little play and I love it so far! 

I tend to wear a little bit of bb cream in the day and fill my brows in and then do my make up on the evening, what are your must have staples for your holiday make up bag?

SPRING PINKS

Here's a few of my favourites this spring. I've always been a big pink fan when it comes to blusher. Until I got my Naked palettes I didn't really use pink eyeshadow but now it's my everyday shade.

REVIEW: Revlon Highlighting Palette



I saw this little beauty on instagram and twitter and knew I had to have it. I must say it looks very familiar to Bobby Brown's Shimmer Brick which at £32 is like 4 times the price of the Revlon one. I've not used the Bobby Brown one so I have no idea whether this one even compares but he's a little review of this one.

First of all it looks beautiful! I instantly fell in love for it. The colours are so me, this is the shade I go for when buying blushers. This is rose glow but theres a bronze alternative for more golden tones.

The pigments are good and easy to build up a nice colour. I think this is very simple to use and creates a nice natural look. I love the way it adds colour and highlights my skin in a simple stroke.

The packaging is simple which I like and it doesn't seem to get to dirty.

For £8.99 I'm so happy I bought this, its a really nice easy to use palette. I would recommend it!  I might pick up the bronze glow one for the summer.

GUEST POST | Clare's Summer Lipstick Picks


Hey Amy’s Lovelies,

My name is Clare and I write a little blog called A Bit of This and That here in this bloggersphere. The lovely Amy was kind enough to ask whether I would like to guest post on her blog whilst she was sunning herself on holiday (lucky thing), I of course said yes as I’m a big fan of her blog and here I am (Hi!!)

If you have ever seen my blog, you will know of my love for lipsticks. Now this love has been around for many years but since starting my blog this love has turned into an obsession and I am now the proud owner of three narrow muji drawers full of lipsticks as well as a lipstick holder , which is separate, that’s full of 22 MAC Lipsticks, 1 Chanel one and a lip butter…. Yes I do have an obsession.

Today I thought I’d talk about three colours which will be appearing on my lips over the next few months whilst we see the sunshine (fingers crossed everyone), along with some snippits of my vast collection for examples. Shall we begin….


Number 1…. Bright Pink. I love a pink lip any time of the year. They are fun and girly to wear and most people rock them brilliantly. However when the sun comes out to play, my lipstick choice usually goes a little brighter and more vibrant. In my eyes, if the sun can be bright….so can I, right?

In this category, a few favourites include MAC Candy Yum Yum (the brightest of bright pinks), Revlon Lip Butter in Sorbet and MAC Chatterbox (for those who are frightened of a bright lip).




Number 2…. Now this one is a cheat but its two. My second pick(s) are Coral and Orange. If you had told me I was going to say this this time last year I would have laughed in your face. Before I began my blog I stuck to neutral shades, now you can’t hold me back from a crazy lip colour.

In this category my picks would probably be… Bewitching Coral from Maxfactor, MAC Neon Orange and Tutti Frutti from Revlon.





Number 3…. My last summer colour will have to be Red. I love to rock a Red lip anytime of year. The red lip makes me think like I’ve travelled back in time to the 50s. There is nothing I like better than putting my hair into a scrapped back bun or even rocking the pin curled hair and slapping on a red lip and my big sunglasses and pretending I’m an old Hollywood movie star.

My three picks this time are Maxfactor Ruby Tuesday, Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple and MAC MAC Red.




There it is my three lip colour choices for when the sunshine makes an appearance. I think everyone can rock each of these colours its just down to thinking oh what the heck lets try this out for once.
