REVIEW: URBAN DECAY NAKED ULTIMATE BASICS

URBAN DECAY NAKED ULTIMATE BASICS - £38.50

I've had the Urban Decay Naked ultimate basics Palette for a few weeks now, I actually picked it up on the day it was released into stores. I had seen it on Urban Decay's instagram ages ago and knew I was going to need it!

The packaging is beautiful, it's very photogenic as you can see above. The packaging is really good quality, it's really sturdy.

There's a really good selection of shades in the palette, I have swatched them below! I love that there's a mixture of natural shades and black/ grey shades. I tend to opt for brown/ nude shades for day to day and a smokey eye for nights out so this has everything I need.

I love that this is a matte palette as I find most palettes tend to have really lovely shades but they have shimmer or glitter in and I don't always go for a shimmery shadow. I've been opting for matte shadows alot recently.

You get 12 shades and they are decent a size! Urban Decay shadows are my favourite. They are highly pigmented and really easy to use. I find them easy to build up and apply. I use my Spectrum shadow brushes. I like to apply a shade all over the lid and sometimes I apply a darker shade into the crease to create a smokey effect.

I think this palette is such a value for money as you get a great shade selection and some great quality shadows. The palette is gorgeous and I would recommend it if your after an eye shadow palette with lots of matte shades. If you like a selection of matte and shimmer shades i'd say to go for your standard Naked palettes.

Whats your favourite Urban Decay eye shadow palette?

BEAUTY: MY TOP 6 NUDE LIPSTICKS

I have to say I love a nude lipstick, I didn't really like them before but after everyone raving on about Mac Velvet Teddy I wanted to get my hands on it. At the time it was pretty much sold out everywhere and I managed to pick it up when I went to America. On the search for a Velvet Teddy Look-alike I bought quite a few nude lipsticks. I have more than the ones featured in this blog post but these are my favourites.

Mac Velvet Teddy has to be the one, it's my all time favourite. I managed to find it in Duty Free on my way home from America and I love it so much. It's my go to shade, I wear it all the time and it's my favourite lipstick.  I love that it's Matte but not drying, its creamy and lasts long. It's just perfect.

Mac Brave, is a little bit more of a pinky shade rather than a brown/ nude and it's a satin finish so quite different to Velvet Teddy but I like the colour. I think it's a very pretty shade and I don't mind the finish. The Satin mac lipsticks are nice and not too glossy or wet they are a nice smooth and sleek finish.

Mac Taupe is a darker more brown shade than Velvet Teddy, it is a Matte lipstick so it's more of a similar finish but the colour isn't as pretty. I like this for nights out as it's a darker sexier shade. Again a lovely finish, I really like Mac lipsticks incase you didn't notice.

Mac Blankety is an amplified lipstick and it's a lovely shade. It's a really nice more pink, girly shade. It's more shimmery than the others but again not wet or tacky. I really like this one.

The Nars lipsticks are really lovely and my favourite is Walkyrie which is a Velvet Matte shade. It's a brown / nude shade with a hint of red. It's a nice rich colour. The finish is lovely, it's a very soft matte, which leaves the lips smooth and not dry at all.

Finally on the search for a Velvet Teddy Dupe I came across this which is the Maybelline Color Drama Nude Pefection lipstick you can read my full review here with swatches but I really like this pencil. Again its a lovely shade and very similar texture, finish and colour to Velvet Teddy so check out

Velvet Teddy has to be my favourite Nude Lipstick, I need a new one as mine is nearly all gone. Whats your favourite Nude Lipstick? Do I need to try the nude Liquid Lipsticks I was thinking the NYX ones or the Kylie Lip kit ?

BEAUTY: KIKO MILANO HAUL

When we were in London a few weeks ago I had a look around Kiko and it was too busy so I headed into Birmingham and checked out the store. It's new in Birmingham and has recently opened a store in the Bullring. I wanted to check out their Eyeshadow sticks after reading some good things, I swatched a few in store and went for this silvery mink shade, called Light Taupe, my first impressions are good, I swatched them on my hand and they lasted all day, i've used this for the first time and i'm really impressed they are so so easy to use. They have loads of shades and I will be picking up some more!! I picked up a couple of eyeliners in the sale aswell.
I picked up this Vivid lip colour in the sale for £1.70 the finish is lovely and the colour is really nice. I love the Velvet Mat lipsticks, they are only £6.90 and they have so many different shades. I picked up a dark nude shade which is lovely. I really love the finish of this lipstick and will be picking up lots of shades next time i'm in Birmingham. I also picked up one of these lipliners which is a lovely creamy finish so I think I might pick up some more of these.

I've been so impressed with everything I picked up in Kiko and I will be heading back to pick up more. If you are tempted to have a browse around Kiko, be sure to download their app onto your phone and sign up for their rewards. EVENT: TOPSHOP BEAUTY AUTUMN/ WINTER LAUNCH

I went along to a lovely event yesterday at Topshop in the Bullring, it was a small event with only a few bloggers attending.

First of all we were introduced to the latest range called 'The Face'  which includes foundations, concealers and primers. I'm a big fan of Topshop packaging, it simple but effecting. I love the thin capital letters, ( i'm a font lover )

The foundation is a lovely light texture, it's silicone based which makes it a silk-like finish. It has skin tone  adapting qualities meaning there's a shade for everyone! The foundation has medium coverage but feels so lightweight. It leaves your skin looking luminous but comfortable and not cakey. At only £16 I can see this being a new day to day fave!

The concealer comes in two shades but again has skin tone adapting qualities so it will work for most skin tones. The dark shade is more for skin with yellow undertones and then the light for pink undertones. I've gone for the darker shade as I felt the light was a little too light. The coverage is amazing! Again it's silicone based so will blend easily into the skin.

The concealer palette is on my wish list this month! There's a colour corrector for blemishes, two shades so you can mix together the perfect shade and a setting powder. Thats four products for £12, such a bargain. It's a lovely sleek palette, perfect for your handbag, making it easy to fix your makeup throughout the day.

The Airbrush Primer is gorgeous, it blurs imperfections and erases the appearance of pores and fine lines. The silicone base makes it easy to apply and to blur out those imperfections. I have to say it feels very similar to higher end primers i've used. There's also a colour correcting primer which has a green tone to neutralize any blemishes and redness. Whilst your wearing the primer the anti-inflammatory qualities banish redness and the oil absorbing powders mattify and tighten pores.

Next up the NEW SEASON COLOUR COLLECTION, omg it's beautiful. Such a gorgeous range. The idea is there's a nail polish and blush to match each lip polish.

The Lip Polishes are available in a range of colours, my favourite is Twin, which is a gorgeous red/ purple berry shade. It's perfect for this season, the finish is glossy and gel-like. They appear very moisturing on the lips. I've heard good things about Topshop lipsticks in the past and I am very excited to buy one of these.

Next up a very interesting product, Cheek Jelly. It looks like a lip balm and kind of feels like a lip balm but it's for your cheeks. It's a gel like product that you apply to your face. It's creates a natural finish and is buildable so you can build up the colour. I love my blushers and I don't think this is really for me as I like a bright pop of colour on my cheeks rather than a more natural finish however for work and day to day wear this is really nice. You can apply this product to the lips or other areas of the face if you want to create a rosy look or add some colour to your face.

I've tried Topshop nail polishes before and i'm a fan, They are decent quality, cheap and they come in 49274246247 different colours!! They have some gorgeous new colours this season. I'm loving the gel effect! I love the colours. They are all fab and perfect for this season. I'm exciting to see what people think of these, still a bargain at £6!
