BEAUTY: HOW I DO MY HAIR!!

Everyone's hair is different and I find it hard to copy tutorials and experiment with my hair. My hair is good, it styles easily and I can curl it or straighten it quite easily. It gets greasy quickly and I have started getting issues with my scalp but apart from that my hair is healthy and considering I haven't had it cut for a while it's not that bad.

I thought i'd share a few products i'm using right now and i've switched up my hair porducts/ tools alot recently.

Shampoo and Conditioner :

I've been using the Loreal Elvive Extraordinary clay range for a little while now, you can see my full review here.  I started having problems with my scalp back in april/may time. I quickly found out that it was product build-up that was irritating my scalp so I stopped using dry-shampoo so much and switched to this shampoo and conditioner combo which worked well for my hair and scalp. I haven't been using it alot recently but my scalps been playing up again so i've introduced it back into my routine. I use it a couple of times a week alongside my other shampoo and conditioner.

I've recently been using the Bedhead TIGI Fully Loaded range* which is a range designed to add volume to your hair. My hair can be abit limp so i've been using this whole range and I love it! The shampoo and conditioner clean my hair really well and leave it feeling so clean and soft. It also smells incredible.

Styling Products:

Also from the Bedhead Fully Loaded range i've been using the Volume Boosting foam. I can't remember the last time I used a foam but this is lovely and really adds volume to my hair and makes it perfect for styling. I love using this when i'm going to curl my hair.

I have been a huge fan of Lee Stafford's Coco Loco range for a while now. I love the CoConut SPritz*this is such a lovely product. I use it if i'm leaving my hair to dry naturally and sometimes if i'm blow drying it. It leaves your hair smelling amazing and just leaves it more manageable. It detangles and smooths hair.

Also from the Coco Loco range is Blow and Go. *This is a cream product that you apply to damp hair before blow drying. I like using this because it contains heat protection as well as detangles the hair, smooths and de-frizz. It conditions and strengthens the hair too. It's an amazing product, i'm nearly all out and need to repurchase.

To set the hair, whether i've curled it or straightened it i've been reaching for the Bedhead TIGI Fully loaded finishing spray*. It's a really nice firm hold but it's not sticky and doesn't leave your hair all crunchy. I feel that my curls are more voluminous and hold well using this spray. I think it works well to add texture to straight hair too, I really like this product.

Hair Tools:

I love my GHD's I have had them for years and they are amazing, I could never use any other straighteners.

I have a couple of pair of curlers for different types of curl. Recently i've been reaching for my Lee Stafford Coco Loco Long Tong *for that everyday wave/ curl. The long tong has a longer tong(like the name) so it's perfect for all hair lengths. I find this easier to use that most hair curlers.

Recently i've been using the Arconic blow dry brush* which i'm loving!!  This is a curved paddle brush which is designed for medium to long hair. I find it so easy to use. It's a nice weight, not too heavy and very comfortable to hold. I really like blow drying my hair using this brush. It makes the hair really straight but not flat, it adds volume which is amazing and because the paddle is so big you can dry your hair so quickly by using this brush, which I love because drying your own hair is so boring.

EVENT: SELFRIDGES BEAUTY BLOGGER EVENT

A few months ago I had a little meeting with Rose the lovely beauty personal shopper at Selfridges Birmingham and we had a chat about Birmingham blogger events. Rose had this idea of a monthly beauty event for bloggers where we can find out about the latest beauty releases and get a more personal experience with different brands. So when I got an email from Rose about the event I was so excited! She lined up some amazing brands such as GHD, Estee Lauder, Nars, Charlotte Tillbury, Tom Ford, Kiehls and Creme De La Mer. We had personalised Krispy Kreme donuts and one to ones with all of the brands. It was a lovely event, it gave us the opportunity to not only find out about new releases and try new brands but also to network with the ladies who work at Selfridges and other bloggers.

I got to try some of the latest releases from Nars such as their Nail Polishes which they have just relaunched and their new Duel Intensity Eyeshadow's which are amazing!! I actually want Callisto soo bad! It's gorgeous. You can use these wet and dry which is fab, they are so pigmented.

I got to hear about the latest releases from GHD, including their new Aura hairdryer and Eclipse styler.

Estee Lauder gave me a little make over, using their latest releases. Using the little 3 minute beauty booklet they gave me I can create some fabulous looks by using these simple techniques. I got to try their new Pure Colour Envy Lipstick in Eccentric which is a new shade, it's a lovely coral shade. The Pure Colour Envy Eyeshadow Pallete in Envious Orchid and the Double Wear Brush on Glow BB highlighter which is amazing. All of the products that the lovely Erin used on me were great, I'm especially loving the hightlighter which I will have to purchase because its amazing and just so easy to use.

I was very impressed by Charlotte Tillbury as I knew little about this brand before the event, Rose has shown me some of the products before. They all come with instructions showing to how and where to use the products making them easy to use. They are all packaged in lovely gold packaging. I tried one of the eye liner pencils on my hand and seriously it didn't wash off for like two days! So the products are great quality, i'm always hearing great things about the brand so I'm so glad I got to see some of their latest products and learn more at this event.

I have used a few Kiehls products before but it was so lovely to have a little sit down with the lovely Nikki and chat about different products. I've learnt great things about the brand and I now have a list of products I need to buy.

I had such a great time with Karen from Creme De La Mer. This is a brand I usually walk straight past when I roam through Selfridges but not anymore. I learnt so much about the brand and the products. I spoke to Karen about my skin and what kind of skincare I normally used. I got to try a few products and I have to say i'm so impressed with the brand. The products are lovely, I especially love the moisturizing gel cream and the oil absorbing lotion they are a little lighter than the cream and work so much better on my skin. I felt like talking to Karen about my skincare helped me, and I know how I should be using the product and whether it's right for my skin.

I had my make over done by the Lovely Hayley from Tom Ford and I have to say I was so impressed. I went home and told my boyfriend how I needed Tom Ford products in my life. First of all the Traceless Perfecting foundation it was so light and Hayley only used the tiniest amount but the coverage was amazing and it looked so good.  I was actually glowing!! She then used the Contouring Cheek Colour Duo to contour and highlight my face. It was so easy to do and I would love to own this as I think it would make contouring easier. Also the highlighter and blusher had amazing pigmentation she used the tiniest amount! Here's a photo after my little Tom Ford makeover !
I want to thank Rose and the rest of the Selfridges Team for making this event happen, I had a lovely night! If your in Birmingham this week I just want to mention the Selfridges Perfecting beauty event which is this Thursday 5pm-9pm Tickets are £10 each, the price is fully redeemable at the event. You can get tickets from Rose Gallagher @MixedGemsBeauty (Selfridges Beauty Personal Shopper)

ghd AIR SAPPHIRE HAIRDRYER

 ghd AIR SAPPHIRE HAIRDRYER - £99* - ghdhair.com

Ever since the GHD air hairdryer was released i've wanted it ! It was actually on my birthday wishlist for this year and my momma was buying it for me so when I was offered the opportunity to review the brand new limited edition sapphire hairdryer I jumped at the chance.

The ghd air sapphire hairdryer is part of the Limited edition ghd jewel collection, I love the hint of colour and think it looks amazing. The hairdryer is a decent size and feels very good quality. It's not too heavy and its very comfortable to hold. The cable is very long at 3m which is great for me as I only have one set of plugs in my room and have to stretch the wire across the room.

You have different settings for the temperature and speed meaning you can alter according to how you prefer to dry your hair. Theres also a cool shot button and it comes with two concentration nozzles.

I think this hairdryer dries my hair quicker and more effortlessly than my previous hairdryer. It also leaves my hair feeling more managable and less flyaway.

I do think that £99 is alot for a hairdryer but this is a really lovely hairdryer and i'm such a massive fan of ghd that I would spend £99 on this hairdryer.
