LIFESTYLE : HOME INTERIOR TRENDS OF 2016

Since getting my own place I have become increasingly interested in interiors and what the current interior trends are. We rent so I can't paint walls or do any drastic renovations so I use accessories to add those trends into my home. I'm delighted that Metallics are here to stay but gutted that white is out and colour is in!

Two of the major influences in the interior world are Dulux and Pantone and by using their colour trends you can get an idea of whats to come in 2016.

The Dulux colour forecast of the year says that white is out in 2016 and colour is in. They have gone with Cherished Gold which has evolved from last years Copper Blush shade. This adds an element of luxury and it means Metallics are here to stay which makes me very happy as I bought some lovely copper/ brass baskets for my house.

The Pantone Colour of the Year is actually two colours which blend together Rose Quartz and Serenity. As you can see the two shades effortlessly work together and create a really soft tone for any home.

Colour is key this year but pattern is still going strong. Patterns inspired from around the world. Moroccan furniture is a great way to get those patterns into your home as well as using throws, rugs and other materials to break up the colour blocks. The Marrakech range at Baytree Interiors will bring your home into 2016 with dark colours and striking patterns.

I think there seems to be alot going on with clashing colours and patterns and also there seems to be a mixture of old and new, but it works so well. I love the idea of Moroccan patterns and colours, I think these will work so well with the Metallics, and will add that sense of luxury that Dulux mentioned in their colour forecast.

BEAUTY : CLARINS SPRING COLLECTION 2016

I have been sent a couple of bits from the new Spring collection from Clarins, I love Clarins, they are one of my all time favourite brands and I love their Spring Collections.

I really like these little Iridescent eyeshadow pots from Clarins, they are a powder shadow but they are so creamy and blend really easily. I have the shade silver green which is a silver eyeshadow with a green undertone, It a dark silver so great for adding definition to the eye and a nice shade for that smokey eye look. The spring collection includes new shades of these Iridescent eyeshadows, including a silver ivory and silver pink which look like such lovely shades.

I was also sent one of the Rouge Eclat lipsticks in the shade 26 Rose Praline, this is such a lovely spring pink/ nude shade. It has a satin finish and Age defying qualities, it's so soft and nourishing on the lips. It has long lasting colour and hydrates the lips all day. I love the Clarins lipsticks they are so nice on your lips and the Rouge Eclat lipsticks come in a huge range of shades which is great. The packaging is gorgeous.

I'm loving the products i've tried from the new Spring 2016 collection, you can check out the whole collection on the Clarins website.

FASHION: OUTFIT POST - TOPSHOP FOREST GREEN DRESS

DRESS: TOPSHOP // JACKET: NEW LOOK // SCARF: PRIMARK // BOOTS: NEW LOOK *

It was so so cold today! We went into Birmingham to look for a rug, we didn't manage to find anything. I know what I want but I don't really want to order one online as i'd like to see it in real life but i've looked everywhere. I love this green dress from Topshop, I have it in Black aswell, I picked up the Green one in the sale and the Black one was full price but it was only £20 which is a bargain.
I'm loving my outfit posts at the moment and I hope you are enjoying them.

FASHION: MY BOOTS AND ME

I've needed a new pair of boots for awhile now, my old trusty ones from Primark were getting battered and starting to look a little worse for wear.  My old boots were black and pointed, just nice plain boots for everyday and were nice and comfy for work or shopping. I really wanted a nice new pair. I've been on the hunt for a little while, I spotted a gorgeous pair of boots in Kurt Geiger but I just can't spend over £70+ on a pair of boots. They were a suede material aswell so I would just ruin them in the rain. That's when I spotted these gorgeous boots on the New Look website.

They are affordable, they were £39.99 when I picked them out before Christmas, they were recently reduced to just £17 in the sale!! I usually go for wide fit from New Look especially in boots as i'm between a 4 and a 5 and struggle to get comfy boots. These are perfect, they are so comfy, I wear them for work aswell.

I really love the tan heel, they stand out and look so nice. The pair of boots in Kurt Geiger has a similar heel and I just love it, they were just what I was looking for. The suede material is so nice, they look really expensive and they are so versatile, you can wear them with so many different things. This season i've been wearing my new boots with high neck tops, they are so popular right now, I have so many. I've been wearing so much grey aswell, it's like my new favourite colour. I think this season you can't go wrong with fringe accessories, a nice bag with some fringe detailing is right on trend, a suede skirt, I have a lovely tan one with buttons down the front which I love!!! I'm loving my leather jacket right now as we've had a mild winter so it's nice to pop on when your shopping or in the car on the way to work and don't really need a full on coat.

Do you have a favourite pair of boots? What trends are you wearing this season?

FASHION : OUTFIT POST - WHERE ARE WE NOW?

TOP: ALL ABOUT EVE AT ZALANDO // JACKET: NEW LOOK // SKIRT: H&M // BOOTS: NEW LOOK*

WHAT, another outfit post? We went out to do a spot of shopping today, we're after a rug for the living room but haven't found one yet. I picked up this striped top from Zalando just before Christmas, it's only £9 in the sale now and it is so lovely! It's a really nice quality material, its thick and so cosy. I normally wear it with high waist jeans but today I went for my long black skirt from H&M. I absolutly love these photos and like I said yesterday I really want to keep on top of my outfit posts and will hopefully upload a couple every week.

FASHION: BACK TO BLACK

JACKET: NEW LOOK // DRESS: H&M // NECKLACE: H&M // BOOTS: NEW LOOK *

I haven't done an outfit post in so so long, since moving into the new flat I just haven't had time with the rubbish weather and Christmas. I really want to concentrate on outfit posts this year and want to upload a couple every week! We are lucky to have this gorgeous brick wall in our carpark, it's outside so full of natural light so even if i'm feeling lazy theres no excuse because this lovely backdrop is right downstairs. I want to take more outfit photos tomorrow ( weather depending)
I have to say my outfits lately have been all black, maybe a spot of grey or a stripy top so sorry if my upcoming outfits are not that exciting but it's what I wear and I hope you'll enjoy my outfit posts along side the rest of the content i'm putting together.

LIFESTYLE : GOALS FOR 2016

I'm just writing this blog post for me and as a little push for 2016, I did a similar post last year and I'm happy to say I feel I succeeded in 3 out of my 4 goals. 2015 was hard! I had alot going on at home and still have alot going on but 2015 was also freeeeking awsome!

BEST BITS OF 2015
- Florida, we went to Florida and did Universal, I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars in Sephora. It was such a perfect trip. It was amazing spending time with Clint and we had the best time!

- Dublin, we went to Dublin for Clint's Birthday. We didn't know if we would be going away again this year after our trip to America as we spent loads but we managed to book Dublin. We had such a great trip. We did loads of sightseeing and had a great time!

-Ibiza, Ibiza was mental. It was so so amazing, Florida was obviously our best holiday but Ibiza wasn't far behind. We did a boat party, paint party, bar crawls, ocean beach club went to Amnesia. It was so crazy, we were there for my birthday which was amazing and went to Ibiza Rocks!

Also in 2015, two of our best friends got married and we had such a lovely time at their wedding, they went to Las Vegas on their honeymoon and I was just so happy to see them get married and this really was a highlight for me this year.

One of my goals for this year was to pass my driving test and I DID IT! I did my theory and my driving test, i failed my driving test first time but passed second time round. I'm so proud of myself because this is something I really wanted to do.

The best thing I have achieved this year was getting our own place, Clint and myself have been looking for awhile, we couldn't find something we were really happy with and when we did find somewhere we were either not picked or someone else got it first and we were struggling. We managed to find somewhere and it's seriously perfect. We are so so happy here and we managed to find a property which is close to work, and its part furnished so we didn't have to buy loads of appliances etc. It's seriously perfect, we've only been here just under 2 months but its home. I know we will be here for awhile.

Finally my goals for this year, I just want to be happy.
We will struggle this year because now we have our own place we have our own bills to pay etc so we won't be able to afford 3 holidays like last year but thats fine, we knew what we were signing up for. I hope we can save and go away somewhere even if its just for a few days.
I want to get somewhere with my teaching whether thats just applying again and getting some work experience or getting a teaching assistant job in a school, I'm ready to start my career now, my only issue is now I have bills to pay and a flat to keep on top of, but i'm going to be positive.
I really want to keep on top of my blog, one of last years goals was to improve my blog and photography, I feel my blog has grown but not as much as i'd hoped so this year I want to concentrate on the social media and SEO aspect of my blog.
