FASHION: VIONIC NALA SANDAL REVIEW

I was so excited when I received an email asking if i'd like to try a pair of Vionic Sandals*. I'm pregnant and my feet are very swollen and I was finding most of my shoes were feeling uncomfortable! This email came at the most perfect time, i've been wearing them for a few weeks now so thought i'd share how i've been getting on.

I picked the Vionic Nala Sandals as I wanted something I could wear to work, I work in retail and with it being summer i'm wearing alot of maxi dresses so I thought a pair of sandals would be perfect. The Nala style is a classic design, I went for the white ones which are really versatile, they also come in Red and Black.

Vionic also stock heels and wedges, sneakers, loafers and flats, slippers and much more so theres something for everyone.

The Nala Sandals feature a Midsole which absorbs shock and reduces the stress on feet, ankles and knees. An Outsole, which is  a durable rubber outsole with a patterned tread to provide traction and the Footbed FMT Technology to designed to hug your arches and support your feet.

Honestly at first I didn't think they were working for me, they were quite uncomfortable and were really hurting my arches. I thought i'd continue to wear them and see if once i'd broken them in a bit if they were more comfortable. I'm glad I was persistent and gave them a chance. I'm used to wearing very flat shoes which I why I think they were hurting my feet. After a few days wearing them at work I noticed they were no longer uncomfortable. They are really comfortable and I can wear them all day at work with no problems. I've had lots of compliments on them and a few people have actually mentioned how comfortable they look. A few of the girls at work had actually heard of Vionic and were happy to hear that I think they are very comfortable.

I think £70 is a bit steep for a pair of sandals and I probably wouldn't spend that much but I'd be happy to pick up a pair in the sale. The Nala style is actually on offer right now so you can grab a pair for £50 which is more reasonable. I know a lot of people that would be happy to spend £70 of pair of shoes if they were comfortable.

I went for my usual size, as I said my feet are abit swollen right now due to pregnancy but i've found that my normal size fits perfectly and my feet don't look like they are bulging out which is lovely.

LIFESTYLE: CHECKING YOUR TYRES AND CAR IS SAFE BEFORE A LONG JOURNEY THIS BANK HOLIDAY

The bank holiday is here and a lot of people myself included like to take advantage of the extra few days off and go for an adventure. I am actually working over the weekend so I won't be going anywhere but we went on a few long journeys last weekend as we were both off and took advantage of the gorgeous weather.

On Saturday we went to Stratford Upon Avon and had such a lovely day, the weather was beautiful, it was so warm and then on Sunday we drove to Weston Super Mare for the day.

When going on long journeys you should always check your car over and make sure that everything is in working order before you get on your way. I thought i'd put together a list of things to check before going on those long journeys.

* One of the main things to check is your tyres, if your tyres are not safe they can cause some very serious accidents or issues. Blow outs or a puncture on the motorway can be so dangerous so just checking your tyres before you leave is so important. You want to check the tyre pressure, you don't want too much or not enough pressure in your tyres. Next you want to check the condition of your tyres, look out for any holes, scratches and rips as these can cause problems. You can always have your tyres checked and replaced by a specialisOne place to go to for cheap tyres London is DAT Tyres where they offer fairly low prices. This ensures you have the safest tyres before a long journey. Also check your spare tyre for any damage should you need to replace a tyre should you have any issues.

* Engine Oil, again this can cause all kinds of problems including your engine could completely seize up and stop working which would leave you pretty much stranded. So make sure this is topped up before you go on your journey. You check the oil using the dipstick.

*Checking you have enough water in your car. Even if the weather is lovely and you wont be using your windscreen wipers the water in your car the water also keeps the car cool and your engine temperature maintained. Your car could overheat or you could break your engine if you don't have enough water in your car.

*Windscreen Wipers, This is such a simple thing to check but can cause real issues if they are broken. Just test them before you get on your way. In case it starts to rain and you cannot see because they are broken or you could get dust or something else blow onto your windscreen and you cannot clear it because the wipers are broken or just smearing it across the screen.

* Are your lights working? This can be a real hazard whether your driving during the day or night. If your brake light is out or an indicator isn't working you can cause an accident as the driver behind won't know what you are doing. Light bulbs are very inexpensive so replace any broken ones before you go. In the dark a lack of lights can be so so dangerous, especially on little country roads that have no street lights.

*Have your car serviced? Have you got an MOT coming up? If your due to get your car serviced or MOT get this done before you head away for the weekend. There could be a serious problem with your car that you know nothing about. Having your car checked out before you go away could prevent you braking down so it's worth doing. We went to wales a couple of years ago and Clint's car was due a MOT and we found out he needed 4 new tyres and this could have caused a serious problem if we had left it until we got home and could have cost us a lot more money to have the car fixed if we were in an accident or recovered if we broke down.

* Plan your journey, do you have enough petrol? Do you know where your going? The nearest service station? Do you have tools in the boot should you need them. Have you got water and food should you break down. It doesn't hurt to be prepared.

LIFESTYLE:OUR FAVOURITE HIDDEN GEM -ELMDON PARK

Is it just me or do you love to jump in the car and go on an adventure. Sometimes we like to go on a long journey like to weston for the day but sometimes we get in the car and drive round to our Local parks. We have a few that are not too far away from us, our favourite has to be Elmdon Park. It's a park and local nature reserve with lots of hills and amazing views.  The park is surrounded by industrial estates and Land Rover it's tucked away in the middle which I love.

We tend to drive round to Elmdon park as it's a little bit far to walk. We love going for walks around the park, especially this time of year when it's crisp and we like to wrap up in our hats and coats and go for a nice stroll. There's a lake and streams which are so lovely, and freeze up and look so pretty this time of year and there's lots of wildlife there.
There's lots of grass and there's paths and walks so there's lots to do, you can take the family and play some footy or walk the dogs. Because the park is a good distance from where we live I like jog there and then do some sprinting in the park and then I jog home again. It's always really calm and there's lots of hills, paths and benches(for me to rest haha)

In the spring when the weather warms up a little we like to drive round to the park with a picnic and blanket and a portable speaker and just chill at the park and relax. The park has a safe car park which is actually by a church but be careful if you plan on leaving your car all day, make sure you remove any valuables from the car. Make sure your car is insured if your car gets broken into. https://www.chill.ie/car-insurance/ have competitive prices and have lots of info on their website, their blog is also a great read. They are bringing out an Ebook which has Ireland's hidden drives which sounds like a good read if you plan on visiting Ireland or you live there and like to explore. We go on little strolls around the park. It's better in the summer when it's really hot and we can spend all day just chilling out.

Wheres your favourite place to drive to? Do you have a hidden gem like ours?

OUTFIT POST: LITTLE DAY TRIP TO THE BEACH

TOP: NEW LOOK //  JEANS : NEW LOOK // SANDALS : PRIMARK // BAG: FLORIDA // NECKLACE: CHARMED IVY

Yesterday Clint and I had a day off work together which was lovely, I had a driving lesson in the morning but we decided to drive down to Weston to go to the beach. We realised that Brean wasn't much further so carried on to Brean. The beach in Brean was really quiet and quite windy so we had a little walk up and decided to drive round to weston. We had some food in a little pub and then headed for the Great Pier. The Pier was burnt down a few years ago but they have rebuilt it now. We went and got an ice cream and found a nice spot on the beach. We spent a lovely afternoon off together on the beach which was lovely! I had such an amazing day, were planning a weekend away in May for Clint's birthday, were going to Dublin, i'm so excited to get it all booked.

The Ideal Celebrity Beach Body

I've recently came across this really fun post by My Voucher Codes and I thought id would be great to share on the blog. I'm going on holiday again in September and I must say that 'the beach body' is something I worry about. I don't consider myself to have a beach body however i'm not afraid to get it out on holiday as I do love a tan. I have enjoyed looking at what celebrities bodies people want and would consider an ideal beach body. I have to agree with Kelly Brook for boobs as her boobs do look great and I have alot of Kelly Brook Lingerie. I love Cheryl's smile and Keira Knightly's Brows/ eyes! For the guy I think David Beckham and Tom Hardy are very good choices, however i'm not really feeling the rest, i'd like to see some Robert Pattinson or Mark Walhberg in there! What celebrities would you pick to create that perfect beach body?

Online voucher code website polled UK men and women on what parts would make up their ideal beach body, if they could choose from any British celebrity. It’s probably no surprise that David Beckham and the Duchess of Cambridge featured along with popular sports stars and reality TV stars.
Interested to see what consumers would like from their ideal beach body, an online voucher code website polled users to find out which celeb body parts made up their ideal beach body, with some surprising results leading to hot bodies rather than Frankenstein’s monster types.
For the summer, www.myvouchercodes.co.uk polled an equal mix of men and women to find out what they would like, if we could have any celeb beach body. Choosing from top British celebs, respondents picked their favourite body parts to make up the ultimate celeb beach body.
For men, sport stars and movie stars were the popular choices and we presume the young boy band member was thrown in there to get the younger ladies. The ladies opted for some Royal blood and one of Britain’s ‘Sweethearts’ along with some sporting prowess, model good looks and reality TV beauty.

So what ideal beach body would most men like to have and which do women long after? The results are below:
Male
Hair: Harry Styles – 37%
Face: David Beckham – 42%
Beard: Tom Hardy – 27%
Torso: Scott Timlin (Geordie Shore) – 31%
Arms: Jack Wilshere – 38%
Legs:  Frank Lampard – 35%

Female
Face Shape: Keep as Myleene Klass – 27%
Eyes & Brows: Keira Knightley – 29%
Smile & Dimples: Cheryl Fernandez-Versini – 31%
Hair: Holly Willoughby – 45%
Stomach: Towie’s Lucy Mecklenburgh – 36%
Boobs: Kelly Brook – 39%
Legs: Kate Middleton – 41%
Arms: Jessica Ennis – 36%

Mark Pearson from My Voucher Codes said: “It’s interesting to see what each sex would choose for their ideal beach body. For many people, summer can be dreaded when it comes to going to the beach and getting in a bikini/swimming costume or shorts. If only we could sculpt our body’s after our favourite celebrities.
I’m sure we would see different results if it was chosen for the opposite sex. However it seems the pecks and big boobs are favoured by both sexes and men and women seem to put equal importance of long luscious hair!”
